Mexican pizza for lunch yesterday

A tortilla, with ketchup, sriracha sauce, and salsa on the base.

IMG_3092.JPG

Fried onions, red bell peppers, ham and some left over chicken...then mozzarella cheese

IMG_3093.JPG

In the oven at 400F for 8 or 9 minutes (I went a minute too long, thus the burnt edges).

Fried crispy cod in beer batter, or as we call it “kibbeling”, 10-buck family bag:

I drove 30miles to get it from a small old fishing town, super fresh, best kibbeling in NL.

Also got some smoked salmon and this smoked mackerel. My car smells so good now :lol:View attachment 5159341

It’s just candy…

I just had cod fingers that looked just like that. The 'housemade dipping sauce' was lacking in flavor but the fish was sweet. I am sure the tripel was a relaxing beverage ;)

Ours come standard with rémoulade sauce but I don’t use it much cause I like it plain. And yeah that tripel is good stuff. Created by the son of the guy who created Kwak, another great Belgium beer.

It's very easy to use. I decarbed with it and infused. It was labor free and very effective. You can decarb maybe 15 grams at a time if you get a second power pod. I used an online dose calculator to estimate my gummies at 5 mg if my input was 20% thc. 2 or 3 give me a nice relaxing buzz. I Can make another batch of 64 with the remaining oil I have but I may reinfuse it with more herb to make them stronger. That said, this oil is way tastier than I have made using old methods which, for me, made a pretty grassy dark oil. If you want to go big the new Levo C can make a liter of infusion at a time.

Short answer is I'm a fan. The price is a bit much but it's so convenient. It makes it so much more fun. You are still boiling and stirring gummie mix manually though. I'm thinking of getting a magnetic stirring lab hotplate to handle that side. They are pretty cheap.
I was looking at the C model, unfortunately on that one you can only use 1 pot in the base at a time, sadly. I was also wondering if you could use that as a hotplate with stirrer. If you could it would be nice.

It doesn't stir constantly during infusion. Agitates and then rests. I am looking at this:
Slendor Magnetic Stirrer 2000ML Hotplate Mixer 2400 RPM Lab Heating Plate Stirrers with Digital Temperature Display Including Stir Bar and Support Stand (Gray) https://a.co/d/cZ6mjGJ

But my needs may be smaller than yours.

10 buck family bag? I wish there was a place around here with that kind of deal. Here in Portland you'd be lucky to get 3 of those pieces for under $20.

It's enough for lunch AND dinner for two persons. It’s is a classic snack here, sold at herring fish stands traditionally, and it's sort of not done to sell it for high prices. Popular kids meal while parents suck on a herring. Usually a single person portion of a little less than half a pound is around 4 bucks. I got these in a small fisher town with a relatively large fishing fleet and fish auctions. At a sort of factory outlet, a small fish stand attached to a large building where they clean and smoke fish. Not a whole lot of middlemen involved, virtually no transport cost on land, so portions there are extra large. Plaice was relatively expensive today, they need to go further to catch those and high fuel prices has some of them close to bankruptcy. I used to buy that, filleted, for roughly $3 per two pounds, now 7 times as much.

I’ll have to go to our weekly streetmarket soon, 30 min before they close up the fish stands are practically giving away fish. Same with flowers… over a week old, 5 bucks for a bouquet of 2feet diameter (3 for the price of 1).

Picked this up at a farmer’s shop (shop literally on a farm, selling their own products and those of neighboring farms) yesterday. Half empty before we got home. Small ones but taste great. I just found a jungle of blackberry plants too… it’ll be a soothing end of the summer when I get to capture it in bottles (syrup, maybe some liqor).
