While the term “subversive element” has been badly abused, I believe it applies here. The First Amendment does not honor speech designed to erode the republic.
I think Youtube and the other major social media sites are right to put an end to the death cult trolling. They are preying on the vulnerable. And boring in their repetitive disregard of actual science.

The whole yelling 'fire' in a crowded room thing I think applies to these attempts to brainwash people with the nonstop spam designed to trigger vulnerable people into being unsafe while simultaneously burying anything positive that is going on.

@HGCC I get it, and you are right.
I would say though that I don't like going round and round with the trolls. It is annoying and boring and you are right it is only furthering their goals of having the stupid titles flashing in the 'latest posts' on the main page so that people are unknowingly brainwashed into the white noise they don't even realize they are constantly being spammed with.

@cannabineer I think she meant the one that you posted in. It is a flat out lie (and a dangerous one for the people vulnerable enough to believe that shit) that has been bumped onto the front page every day since it was made. I am not white knighting for her or anything, but seriously that thread needs to die.
It has nothing to do with politics and is wrong, but the title keeps getting pushed into relevance on this site for no reason.

Just the fact that those propagandists sentences are constantly pushed into people's minds (even unconsciously) over and over is a dangerous thing. All this anti-vaccine spam over and over again from every angle that people see online turns into 'I saw something somewhere' kind of brainwashing. And enough stimulus repeated over and over again can really get us to believe a lot of shit that we know is wrong.

Make a thread with a counter title (that is truthful) and keep that bumped as long as the propaganda title is up IMO.
I used to then reply to all their posts in them, but got told not to copy/paste the replies into them, so now I just bump this one when it becomes obvious that the propaganda titles are being spammed to point it out.

But that could be that the censorship vibe brought by this cluster of “wait wut” is distinctly pissing me off. Have I not established my bona fides? might I not expect presumption of that by the folks here whom I generally like and respect?
So I’m dialing back. I’ve made bad arguments in an emotional basis before. The associated (and often ultimately wrong) righteous anger hits me in a reward circuit, so I’m a bit suspicious of my sentiment right now.
on a slightly different heading, I thank you for engaging me. Pissed off is frankly a step up from confused and unhappy, and I can manage it easier. You’re helping me.

I find that when I find myself getting upset online, I generally need to take a step back and relook at things from a angle of 'generosity' (or whatever you want to think of it as, it is from a book 'braving wilderness'), and think of the most positive way someone could have meant something, and not take it from a knee jerk offended position (unless you know they are a full on propaganda troll, then it is just them trying to rattle me, which I find utterly hilarious).
I didn't mean anything about you at all, nor a handful of posters in that thread.
Im literally just pointing out what I have noticed is a trend here (and any other website with chat feature)

Another way that I might think about looking at what I am saying is consider how many people just browse the thread page (or even just look at the main page feed) that would see this title, vs those that would really jump into a thread and do a deep dive into the individual posts in it. That message that is a lie (as in the propaganda thread misleading people about what that paper found with vaccinated people and the length of time to get over the virus) is in the thread name itself, so if that flashes at the top of the page x number of times, how many people would likely see it, kind of thing.
Hope that makes sense. Anyway you look at it, I am not shitting on you, it is more of a 'the more you know' deal.
No worries man, we are in a very weird time in the internet programming and like that 'bah fah' video shows as clearly as anything I have ever seen, our brains are completely programmable to believe shit we see enough even when we KNOW it is false.
