Yeah right. Strides in making money, money, money. For the licenses, for the dispensaries, for the cops, for lawyers... nothing but BS for the medical patients looking to throw a few plants in their closet..

That's the only reason why these politicians along huge corps are in favor of cannabis. They only view the plant as way to load up their pockets and bank accounts. They don't really give a damn about how the herb benefits patients or how many lives have been torn apart over arrest. 100% pure greed motives.

Both for now but I'm sure that many of the ones that people think are Mom and Pop shops are controlled by the same entities. I don't know that much about the dispensary operations other than they are everywhere here in the Portland area. I've been in some just to check them out. I have bought a bag here and there just to see what was going on and got some damn good weed for cheap. Things are much different out here on the west coast.

My niece lives in Brooklyn and was just out here. She spent a day touring the dispensaries. Couldn't believe the prices, selection, and quality.

There is no real 'dispensary market' here in New York, not yet. I hear some are operating illegally and then there's Cureleaf and the few medical dispensaries that have been selling THC pills and no real 'product' for years now.

When Massachusetts went legal, I crossed the border to visit one of the newly established dispensaries and there was a good line. They were playing A Tribe Called Quest and other hip hop tunes, I got to know the people before and after me in the line. It was that kind of a wait, over an hour. We also watched Med Card patients ushered to the front of the line and this seemed what NY was up claiming that within 6 months of the new framework we'd be able to cultivate 6 plants and that non-medical users would have to wait 18 months after the first legal dispensaries opened their doors to cultivate as well.

Although they may put med users first at the door when they finally open up some real dispensaries, they have done nothing yet that they promised when it comes to med patients rights and the choice to grow a small number of plants, as SB85 has commented it all points to money. We're part of some formula and the bottom line is they lied and its bullshit and very very indicative of how our government works. They're progressive, they want change and better quality lifestyles for the impoverished, they claim they want to help. But who.

These politicians come around and claim to support policies for the sake of public support/ just to have a higher chance of getting into office. It's always been about greed/how much they stand to benefit from bending over backwards for corporate interests. They have no shame in using patients along with victims of arrest as their selling point as the why cannabis should be regulated/sold in store fronts. It's always been about the money for them.

So now what? More waiting with no exact timelines in place. It seems suspicious to me that they don't follow through on the proposed dates... it should be going through any day now but our government is crooked as a muhfucka.

Has there been any news on the cultivation laws in NY? - I haven't heard of anyone getting busted for growing it or selling it even. I mean they are selling it in stores everywhere. Maybe the cops just don't care right now? But still would be nice to "legally" grow (even with a med card which I might get)

I'm all about following the law. Got f'd in California during the med law days, was a total, total setup. I also have studied law - always better safe than sorry. I'm still angry enough to make sure they never get me.

A medical card will do dick for you at this point. They should have it legalized already by their own terms and dates, but like lots of people in this thread have stated they're looking for clever ways to count up all the situations that equal out to the most money for the government, hence why private licenses are being issued for commercial growers, but med patients have been put on a waiting list and are being kept in the dark.

Don't email them - they wont even answer. I get farther pretending my hand is my ex wife and getting into an argument for a few hours..

When, and if it ever changes and they finalize the 6 plant limit for med patients, hop online and get the card...

For now it's just another sick, mean joke about how things work...

These numbers are bullshit. For 7 counties in the North country we get 4 dispensaries? As it is I have to drive anywhere fr 1.5-3 hours for a medical dispensary. Fuck the ocm and this Cuomo wannabe of a governor.

You or others shouldn't have to drive that long/far away in order to get medicine

'Revised Medical Cannabis Regulations:


The period is open for comment but there is nothing in it that goes over the cultivation rules

I did find all of these new changes to this area of the site, and :

It seems on July 25th it was closed for comment, but I see no updates stating whether its finalized. Or when it will be...

I completely agree, but like usual because of the population in the downstate nyc area they dictate and get to speak for the entire state. If you ever wanna feel like your voice and vote don't matter just move to ny.

They have not made any updates concerning medical patients. They keep finding excuses to push it back. If you notice they they are going hard and fast on rec regulations so they can get their money

If you see round 1 were proposed rules and round 2 are revised regulations. If the regulations were still under revision wouldn't they say it? It seems to me something is changing. I know they have to file it in the State Registrar, but they're already giving it a different label...

The medical marijuana dispensaries are a joke. $60+ 1/8s of 10-20% thc, and I’m not sure if I believe that even, the quality and price of MMJ in NY pushed me to the black market again. Also the weed is over dry, cured badly (no smell or taste really), carts and dispos are $130 for a gram, and you can’t buy concentrate to use your own device, only carts and pens. Edibles are weak and over priced. But it’s there, and you can get a card easily and then spend too much on too little, so mark it as a W. Right? No not me, if you want to be a part of the industry at this point, you need rich friends, or a New York Times best selling story from the prohibition days, and someone with $ and infrastructure will find you and use you as their license holder. Never thought I’d say this, but Too bad I never got caught moving all those hundreds of pounds from akwesasne to Albany and NYC back in 2007-2011. Might have been able to get a license.
