Thanks! I call them button buds, just because nobody ever told me the right name for when they first set buds. It's such a great part of the grow. You can finally see all that work you put in during veg starting to come together. I get so excited and when I first started growing it's when I would try too hard and add a bunch of crap thinking I could boost them by adding bloom boosters and trichome additives. Now I just try to keep them healthy, watered properly and fed with simple dry amendments. Even just doing that can be hard enough some runs.

I agree the difficult part is after the blooming starts you must resist the urge to add bloom fertilizer too much too soon, I know I've done it but live and learn. Just maintain for about 2 months and everything should come out fine. Happy Smokey!

It's been two weeks since flip and they're doing great so far. The bubba kush has grown about 8" or roughly 1/3 of it's height so far and the big Steve Lemme has grown 10" with the smaller Lemme only growing 9". It looks like stretch is slowing down but I'll have to keep measuring for the next week at least just to be sure. I lowered the light an inch just to get it closer to the secondary bud sites. The very highest tops are getting slight droop about an hour before lights out from their DLI being just a little too high but I'm willing to stress them a little to get the most light to the greatest number of bud sites. I'll keep an eye on them for burning and tacoing.
I'm stressing out about how many leaves I've left on them so far but I'm trying to hold off on final defoliation until day 21. There's good air circulation under the canopy and above it's just so thick I start to worry about pests and mold. I'm going to try and wait one more week so they get the benefit of all the leaves before I thin them out a little. I know how people's opinions can differ on defoliation so if you have a way you do it differently please share it. It's good to see a bunch of ways to do certain things and then find what works for you in my opinion. Hope your plants are all doing great!

I wanted to take a minute to thank GuamMaineian Gardens for the killer Steve Lemme OG x White Cherry Truffle seeds. They were a gift and all because I'm such a huge fan of Steve Lemme OG plants. I contacted them to see if they had any more Steve Lemme OG x Triangle Kush seeds and he wasn't sure but said he'd look around for me. He found what was the last pack of Steve Lemme OG x Triangle Kush but said since he wasn't sure how old they were he threw in some Steve Lemme OG x White Cherry Truffle seeds too. Steve Lemme OG x Triangle Kush were some of the first decent plants I ever grew when I first started growing and I've had a real desire to grow them again. They were originally donated to me by GuamMaineian Gardens through DC Seed Exchange who was helping veterans get access to seeds. I can't thank the guys at GuamMaineian Gardens or DC Seed Exchange enough for all their kindness over the years, and their genetics are top notch.

There's tons of potent indica in this strains genetics and lots of Chem influence so I'm hoping for some good pain and sleep meds.
White Cherry Truffle is (2012 Chemdog Special Reserve x Cherry Lime#4) x Highland Afghani and I'm betting it will compliment the Steve Lemme OG really well.
I'll be growing out some Steve Lemme OG x Triangle Kush seeds real soon. Most likely the next run as I can't wait for that triangle kush.

Thanks, I'm running it at 100% and it's drawing 700 watts which is a good bit more than the 417 my cob setup was producing for sure. The pre 98 bubba kush is a pretty light feeder so I'm hoping it will do fine with it's normal feed schedule. This is the first run of the Steve Lemme OG cross but it seems to be good with a heavy dose of dry amendments. I'll check it really well before the next top dressing as it should be just coming out of stretch or close to it.
Hell yeah Gary Owen!! I shared a hangar with 1-7 Cav for 2 years and they had the Kiowas. They had a huge Gary Owen banner on their side and of course a Rolls Royce emblem since their engines were built by Rolls.

I just decided to supercrop the taller of the SLOG plants that I've been stalling on. I had to make a decision one way or the other as it's 16 days from flip and I don't want to be breaking main stems in peak flower. I added a support for it, which I don't always do, since it has the extra weight of the buds on the stem and I want it to heal as fast as possible. It evened out the canopy a ton as it had gotten pretty tall in the last few days. This is by far the most vigorous of the SLOG girls and has been since germination. Here's some before and after pics. Hopefully in a day or so you won't be able to tell she was snapped..... we'll see.

I forgot to mention that LUX readings are between 55-65K for almost all secondary and primary bud sites at this height. There's a few hot spots on the bubba kush colas in the very center that hit 70K but so far everything looks good with just subtle signs that I'm pushing the limits here and there. Going to keep the height where it is for now and just keep an eye on them.

One of the guys I rode motorcycles with was a tank commander and I can't remember if he was in 2-7 or if it was 3-7, it's been a long time. They were on the main road right across from where we did all the crap for deployment like get shots and do our wills.
I thought about choosing Cav scout as my MOS when I went in but I really wanted to fly and being a crew chief was the fastest way without a college degree. I miss the Cav calls we used to have but I sure don't miss that Texas heat.

The plants are looking spectacular. I like the way you have them cleared of leaves for the first part of,the stalk coming out of the ground. Easier access for watering etc, and optimum airflow. We are all just bonsai wannabes…
the new light is awesome, if I needed another light (I have several,I don’t even use any more) this one would be high on the list for purchase. Hell, I might buy one just for the hell of it, like I’ve never done that before…

Thanks, I clear all the lower stuff out for a couple reasons but the biggest is it makes watering easier from sitting in my chair. I use a turkey baster to water that only holds 2.25 ounces so when each plant takes 84-100 ounces a day it adds up to a lot of turkey baster fulls. It's really the best way for me to slow down the watering and do it gently so I don't compact the soil. It takes 20 minutes to do a plant if not longer so having all the lower stuff out of the way for me to see the soil helps a ton. It also gets rid of any larf that be would growing that low. I don't like trimming and I just refuse to trim popcorn buds. By shaping them this way I can try to get the maximum amount of dense buds and minimum amount of fluff. If I really cared about maximum yield I'd probably leave a little bit more, but they always yield more than enough for our needs. The extra airflow helps me worry less about pests and mold too.
The Cultiuanna has been really great, I'm super happy with how easy it is to manage the heat and the light spread is really even. I'm hoping we'll see some good penetration into the canopy as well with so much power.

Best be glad you did not join the scouts. No sleep. No hot food,no rest ever, I was of course in headquarters company so when I barracks always had to much brass around.
Knowing all the medics and truck drivers cooks was always great. Army cooks are my heros. When you never get to eat much in the field for months when you come in from the field they are like angels . It's It's great MOS for a soldier because you get to do a out every thing. Engineering , forward observer, close combat, ambushes. It js I think the most rounded MOS as far as skill level goes.

I wouldn't have wanted to fight us.
You would be hunted like you were hunted by vampires.
Everything looks great and on point. Organics is a little harder to grow well . You really have to know what your doing . Many mess it up.

They had a $16,000 sign up bonus for that MOS when I joined and the recruiter tried to get me by telling me they got to ride dirt bikes. I checked with my my buddy before I signed up and he said no way. Go aviation, enjoy the hot meals and sleeping in nice big tents lol. We had it pretty good in the field. The Longbow was so new back then they're were very few really good mechanics for it so we got treated pretty well by the pilots. We worked a ton of hours out on that freaking hot flight line but we got spoiled when they could. My Dad, Uncle and Grandfather were all Infantry so I was teased mercilessly about taking the easy road lol.
I was in 83 to 85 , had some good times. Hated most of it after the first year and you see the politics involved. You get tired of being tired too.
Most of what I liked at 17-19 was in short supply in the army. Weed, beer , parties,sleep,hot food and pussy.
I don't even think they had a female bird on ft hood . When it was dry you always were eating dust, when it rains everything turns to mud.
All we did was train. We beat everyone all the time. Even at ft Irwin. They showed me the same video of the motor cycle scouts. We had a huge re up bonus for scouts, no one would take it.

Your leaves are looking so lush and healthy, you've got a green thumb for sure! What have you been feeding them these days? I re-read the first post and saw you are doing some top dressing and some GH3 part, just wondering what your current feed is like? Beautiful plants.
