Which node to snip?

Hello fellow gardeners

I am wanting to top this plant. As you can see there are plenty of nodes. So if I want to keep the plant low and even where should I cut?

Depend on what your trying to do. Are you trying to scrog it if so I would cut the fifth and start lst immediately to get best results if you’re going to to let it grow out and up I would just cut the top off and do some lst. How many times you planning on topping it?

I cant really scrog. Ive gotta be able to relocate my plants at a moments notice, if you know what I mean. I grow in 3 gallon pots in peat/compost/perlite indoors under an LED
In past grows I let them grow up and bent them over, LST in other words. Now I would like to experience plant management via topping (pruning) only... or mostly only. I might top at 5-6 and then LST or maybe just top and continue topping to maintain a squat plant.
Snipping a beautiful plant has always freaked me out, so Im trying to get a handle on it.
Im trying to learn this with some questionable beans before I pop some decent genetics

Awwww, she's so cute! I roll a bit differently than most here. I'd snip 1 & 2, then wait a while then 3 & 4 and start training. I let the plant tell me, so I'm always gently pruning and shaping the girls. This probably comes from decades of outdoor gardening. It lightly stresses them, they spread out nicely (sometimes too nice & get huge sideways) and extends the veg time. I'm not pushing them to finish, I want them to grow their own legs and show me what they want. As they get bigger, I continue to gently prune to allow light into the canopy. This works for me in more ways than just growing flower, it's also therapy of sorts. I'm in gardening mode. Here's a pic I took this morning of an auto 12 weeks from sprout. Good luck and have fun!

I think Ill go with cutting above the 6th and stripping below the the 3rd as Conor suggested. Though I have two other plants in the same stage to also experiment with. I need them to grow out a bit more so I can clone what I cut.
Im using NFTG nutes and its a slow go at the front end getting them accustomed to all the calcium.

I usually wait until the 7th is poking through and top back to the fifth but it depends on what you want. These were topped at the 4th for the gatorslade (right) and 5th for the amnesia. They both at the start of week five.

How much light is that getting? Is it genetics or is there next to no side branching for some reason? Usually I'll always have a few inches of side branching before the fourth set is coming along. For example this was at like 18 or 19 days. Usually all my plants end up wider than tall.

Usually by the time the 5th nodes coming through, the bottom branches are 4-5" long.

VincenzioVonHook,

The beans arent great for sure. Im practicing on some sh*t genetics before I move on to some Dark Horse and Bodhi strains.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. Those are some fine specimens you have there
