Defoilate or not defoilate, that isnthe question

I still want to know what all of you anti-defoliators lollipop your plants. Also look up the term "counter intuitive."

There's a difference between removing leafs for our own benefits and removing leafs in the name of more yeild, the latter doesn't sit right with me.

I remove leaves to prevent larf, which is increasing worthwhile yield. I've also said many times that if I had freestanding plants I would probably skip defoliation. I think scrogged plants benefit from it the most.

Either way, the old big leaves aren't pushing up colas any better than the newer, fresher, less shade casting ones.

I don't cut anything. No lollipopping or defoliating. The only thing I cut are the tops when training and cuts for cloning. Other than that they grow as they grow with all their leaves.

Also it either slows down stretch or it doesn't. The anti-argument is photosynthesis builds the plant, and without every leaf your robbing the plant of energy that it uses to build itself.

You are in the small minority then. And no offense, but I don't think I've ever seen a plant you've grown. Do you scrog?

I'm pretty certain it slows down stretch but wtf do i know, I'm just another grower making observations nothing more.

A mixed crop i was trying to keep as level as possible, during stretch this plant wanted to grow ahead of the others

So i clipped it's main fan leafs, to me they're fueling growth.

I've posted plenty of pictures. I haven't done any large plants indoors for quite awhile as I've been busy doing reproduction runs of landraces and growing smaller plants. Here's some photos of the way my tent looks when I fill it up. As you can see I don't cut any leaves. When I say I don't I really don't.

Not sure if you mean “why” instead of what?

But removing leaves, and removing useless branches isn’t even close to the same thing. I remove the bottoms of plants for my own ease of trimming, I smoke bud only 99% of the time, and I want juicy buds only not fluff.

If I were strictly running to make hash or concentrates I wouldn’t remove those branches personally.

"Why," "what," what's the difference? They're all just sounds, maaan.

Why are the lower buds larfy? I'm not talking about pruning branches, I mean completely stripping the plant below the canopy. The theory is light isn't penetrating, so the buds aren't developing as densely. It would make sense in your case because you grow really tall plants, but almost everyone does it regardless of plant height.

Also after battling thrips, I think it helps prevent or at least majorly slows an infestation going into flower when you can no longer agent orange them.
