Who Was The Muffin Man Who Lived On Drury Lane?

Do you know the muffin man,
The muffin man, the muffin man?
Do you know the muffin man,
Who lives on Drury Lane?

It's a song known throughout the English-speaking world, with many regional variations. It featured prominently in the first two Shrek films. It namechecks a very real London street (Drury Lane). But who was the legendary muffin man?

I found all the parts to an OLD Oster meat grinder that was stashed in the garage. Figured out how to put it together and checked to see if it still ran. It does of course. I even have a can opener attachment for it which I have no use for. Out of curiosity I looked for sausage stuffer tubes that will fit it, yes they are available. Not sure I want to try that but it sounded like a good idea at the time.

Picked up a rib roast. We were going to get 2 with the lady buying one and me buying one using different reward cards. $4.87 lb for choice is a good price. Looks like we'll have to go back and get a couple more. The Fred Meyers we went to was short on selection and there was only one roast that met my standards. What annoyed me was they had a whole bunch of roasts but most of them were already seasoned. Screw that. I suppose I could have washed it off but we'll just go back.

The lady was looking around over by the steaks and found a small piece of Strip loin aka New York's which is also on sale so for $20 I got a small piece that I cut into 4 steaks.

Then we ate. Finished off the last of the breadsticks. I make batches of them and freeze for later. I'll be making some more today along with more English Muffins which I'm also out of. Time to make the dough.

I worked there at one time as well. I came in 2nd at one of their Whopper making competitions. My time was just over 5 seconds I think. On days when the restaurant would break $1000 sales in an hour we'd get a free meal. I always got a Double Whopper with Cheese, no ketchup or mayo with extra mustard, pickle, and onion.

They used to have a Mustard Whopper.

Make some sausage. Get a tube, some gut, and start grinding and stuffing.

The wife and kid are heading to the mall all day. So I'm going to get real high and bake Xmas cookies. The wife likes Almond Crescents. And the kid and I like Chocolate Chip. If I had more time and energy and didn't have this puppy, I'd do peanut butter or something also. But these will do. If I'm successful I will post some pics later lol.
