The issue as I understand is that the blueberry from DJ short does not taste like the blueberry many of us smoked back in the late 90's early 00's anymore. The story goes that the plant that was being used back then was lost as far as I have heard and since then we have had a diluted 'kind of blueberry-ish' but more fruit/floral option. This is why you see many nostalgic people looking for that old school blueberry.

Also I do not know how much to buy into them saying these blueberry packs are circa 90's. Maybe that's where the line originates but each filial generation after seems to have ruined it. I have not had anyone tell me the F4 or F5 from DJ are the same as old school. In fact I have had more people say F4 isn't it, not bad but not blueberry and regarding F5 people have told me don't even waste your time, they ruined it. As I mentioned in an earlier post not even DJ/JD or Blue Star use the F5 for breeding, they all use the F4 or F3 (that to me says something).

Now they released 90's blues which claims to be DJ Short 98 F4 Blueberry X F4 Circa 95 Blueberry..

If that F4 circa 95 is real I would have to assume that is the one we all want. Why wouldn't they just release that instead of mixing it with F4?

you your right for sure i havent though about it enough, iv always wanted to grow blueberry, from any breeder really iv only had it once, and i remember it was really amazing, but it was in 2015 or so but i have had stuff like what people decribe as being the old school blueberry and that was the best bud iv ever had. in florida around 2012. tropical skunk funk just the best gooey weed ever. didnt even need cured. was ready to smoke right from the chop maybe a tad of a dry. i knew a guy that grew it, not sure if it was the real deal blueberry ( i never got a name) but it was that weed if it was growing cops were smelling it, it was pure loud pack nothing like anything from dispo or from any dealer. if it wasnt that old school blueberry it was far better. thats what im looking for for real. the ultimate terp search

Want something like old blue but wont break the bank and give you an idea of how good it is is the dutch passion blueberry. Is ok. And just being ok by blueberry standards is quite a good seedline from dutch passion.
The taste of the old blue was exactly as the name says. Smells and tastes like blueberries. Tart and sweet at the same time. Mouthcoating. Soul coating. Extra frosty. Somewhat dense. Heavy body buzz with the best head euphoria always a fat smile. Isnt just the taste is the euphoria. Strong as hell. Not weak. Competed with the kushes for strength.

I gave up looking and am making my own. I found a few winners in honest genetics blueberry lolypop at least for terps and am breeding that into something new. I have some riotberry versions 3 I am going to breed with honest genetics blueberry lollypop x blue digiberry f3 it's a 3 way cross about 3 years in the making........... hoping for some luck

Yeah the DP stuff isn't bad from what I've seen. Never grew it myself. Real deal blue dream might get you close too.

Other possible sources and similar options:

Blue dream cut
Dutch Passion blueberry
HSO Blue dream (SSH x blueberry)
HSC blueberry muffin
AKBB vintage blueberry, blueberry indica, 907 blue genes, blueberry muffin
Dynasty blue magoo
Bodhi blueberry hashplant

any of these would be more worthwhile than DJ's F5's

I have a purps #1 cross right now that is as close to the old blueberry smell as I’ve had or seen. Haven’t finished her out yet but she has carried that sweet blueberry smell all the way even through veg and super strong thus far in flower.

bro i feel you, but im telling you its true. this shit was unlike anything most people have ever tried or seen. and it needed no cure whatso ever just a dry so it would burn but there was so much resin it probly vaped when you put a lighter to it.

i have a dutch passion blueberry at F35. it stretched 2 or 3 times more than the durban poison next to it. yield looks a little light for an indica. smell is dirty socks with some light fruit. frost level is lower than other strains in the tent, but more than the durban....as it should be at this point in its development.

I've not long harvested 2 blueberry twist from advanced female seeds.

One of two is a nice smoke but it's not quite the blueberry i remember, however they're encouraging enough for me to sprout more of them in future.

I've got some other blueberry genetics on route from blue star, hopefully they'll yeild some proper bb terps.

VerdantGreen's Blue Digiberry is killer. I am super happy to see some people using it in crosses!

Fantastic Blueberry aromas and flavors. The larger leaf phenotypes were the ones I kept around. Excellent effect as well. VerdantGreen is real winner in my book. I grew out his Bubba S1's and found some real nice plants. His Chem x Rhino is on deck now.

I have those as well suppose mine are first gen. Is dank franks bluedigiberry and vgs dutch passion blueberry. Made by vg. I crossed that to chimeras fighting buddah.

just a few Blueberry (these are from beans I made a while back when I pollinated a really nice JOTI Blueberry and got plants that had that definite blueberry terp. Gonna be fun this time seeings these buds develope seedless, hoping for some fire in these.
