It depends on what it is, people wearing masks around me and in public I can see plainly enough and I can also check to see if there is a general phenomena or just particular to my region. For important facts affecting public policy more rigor is required than mere personal observation, and in science anecdotes are useless and so are some studies. Are you assuming a larger perspective hasn't already been made and the person doesn't feel the need to link or reestablish what has been cited ad nauseum already?
SCTV and Kids in the Hall were brilliant, imo, not so much Corner Gas. Did you also get to see “The Friendly Giant”?they played a lot of stuff on our public access channels when i was younger, living in Mn. , Red Green, corner gas, sctv, kids in the hall ,the littlest hobo....no idea if anyone in Canadia actually watched any of those, but it was different, and i liked most of it.
The clerical error comment was meant as a smart ass jab at the clerical error Biden made when he mishandled classified documents
Sorry. I didn't realize that this was a science-based thread that relied on important, rigorous facts that effect the public domain. I just commented on the bias in media. Maybe "bias in media" is too general a term and it really needs to be hashed out in a much more specific way. Maybe a white paper on the effects of media bias is necessary to further my inept observation through decades of written, visual, and audible observation and experience. It depends on what it is, people wearing masks around me and in public I can see plainly enough and I can also check to see if there is a general phenomena or just particular to my region. ok I’ll biteI noticed I asked one person to point out my fascist beliefs and I get crickets from everyone. Seems I hushed the crowd. Happens a lot when I have discussions with people about politics.
Why would you expect anyone other than the one person to point it out?I noticed I asked one person to point out my fascist beliefs and I get crickets from everyone.
Have you considered the reason might not be a good thing for you?Seems I hushed the crowd. Happens a lot when I have discussions with people about politics.
Do you mean the guy who doesn’t watch cable news but regularly spits out fascist cable news sound bites?ok I’ll bite
You voted for the racist rapist with delusions of empire
instead of the Democrat
add that to your tirelessly equating an unintentional gaffe to the deliberate crimes of the wannabe autocrat
That is from memory. There was more, but I would have to care.
Well to assume systemic bias you need to assume a conspiracy, in the case of the regular media who all generally have the same narrative of events, it must be a global conspiracy involving thousands of people. Now if the educated and generally above average intelligence people who work in the business have a consensus opinion based on facts, that is a different matter. Were Trump and republicans responsible for J6 and was there a large conspiracy? The consensus is yes, they are guilty as Hell based on the public facing evidence and the prima facie case. It's the same for the Donald's document's case, but we await further facts on Joe's document case, but there is no indication of culpability on his part, it was a clerical error that happens frequently apparently. The facts will speak for themselves, listen to the facts forget the spin and leading questions on Foxnews, if you want facts without distortion and spin.Sorry. no, never heard of it, i'll check it outSCTV and Kids in the Hall were brilliant, imo, not so much Corner Gas. Did you also get to see “The Friendly Giant”?
Yes I voted for trump the first go. Didn't the second. But I do not watch cable news. Everything I talk about is aired on CBS or the local news in my area. And please point out what fascist news bites I seem to have spouted. You guys just can't handle the fact that Biden is guilty of one of the same things that trump is guilty of. Does it make me a Democrat since I voted for Biden this last election. I don't think so.Do you mean the guy who doesn’t watch cable news but regularly spits out fascist cable news sound bites?
It’s a kids show.no, never heard of it, i'll check it out
i'll still check it out...might be interesting to see what they show Canadian kids to makes them grow up so polite. It’s a kids show.
I'm not assuming systemic bias. I'm merely stating that there is bias in media. Are you suggesting that I don't listen to or read fact-based media and instead fixate on Fox news spin here?Well to assume systemic bias you need to assume a conspiracy, in the case of the regular media who all generally have the same narrative of events, it must be a global conspiracy involving thousands of people. When you say the two cases are the same you are repeating right wing cable news sound bites. CBS is not making such a claim nor is any other reputable news source.Yes I voted for trump the first go. Didn't the second. But I do not watch cable news. Everything I talk about is aired on CBS or the local news in my area. And please point out what fascist news bites I seem to have spouted. as has been pointed out ad nauseam the bolded bit is false. You cling to it nonetheless, because without it your emotional payday collapses.Yes I voted for trump the first go. Didn't the second. Check out Mr. Dressup, Canada’s version of Mister Rogers.i'll still check it out...might be interesting to see what they show Canadian kids to makes them grow up so polite.
i have heard of that one, but never seen it, i'll put it on my watch listCheck out Mr. Dressup, Canada’s version of Mister Rogers.
I expressed a POV, but our rhetoric and choice of terms can reveal a lot about the news sources we choose in some instances, if those sources are out of line with the general journalist consensus, or especially if they have a known and consistent bias, most often to the extreme right. It is not so much a POV on their part as propaganda. News serves the consumer and provides truth and facts, propaganda serves those who create it and there are many tricks to the trade.I'm not assuming systemic bias. I'm merely stating that there is bias in media. Are you suggesting that I don't listen to or read fact-based media and instead fixate on Fox news spin here?
