Sadly the intent of the post was to show that post WW2 and the enactment of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we (collectively as a world people) did little to stop these slaughters in the later half of the 20th century. Prior to that, every major “civilized” world player had a shameful history on their dealings with and conquering of indigenous peoples; USA and the American Indian and African Slave Trade; Great Britain in Australia, Africa and India; Belgium in the Congo; the Spanish conquest of the Mesoamericans; Russian Empire's ethnic cleansing of the Circassian population and native Siberians; Japan and Nanking: the Ottoman Empire and the Armenians; China and the Sichuan and Dzungar massacres; the French Wars of Religion; the Mongol Conquests and Invasions in Asia... the list goes on. :sad:
