4x8tent heating and cooling questions

I have a big tent and I and venting outside but during winter it kills my kerosene bill lol. I plan to have intake ducts ran to a window for passive cool air. I want my exhaust fan set up on a temp controlled outlet so it doesn’t freeze my plants out. Now I’m in ny so we got below zero nights at times so the fan hopefully will be off 90% with outlet set to around 78degree. So idea is I take ducting ran to a window for intake then have exhaust fan on a controlled outlet to shut off when it gets cool. Hopefully it warms up enough having the drivers in the tent. Then fan turns on to cool it back down then off with all but one vent close. Should work I just need to get the controller

Yea problem is the tents in a house that’s kept at like 80 degrees naturally so it’s counterproductive to let the house air be conditioned or exhausted. Runs furnace non stop

The room isn’t sealed from main house up stairs in an open room with no doorway just hall into room so it gets all the hot air.

Few things.

Why is your house 80 degrees in NYS right now? I can't speak for propane, but that would cost me about 10k in heating oil, and I am about as far away from the north of the state as possible. It's not your exhaust causing the exorbitant heating bills, its your thermostat.

That being said, if you were able to close off most of the airflow to the room you would be much better suited exhausting into the lung room. My 8x4 is in my basement which is not heated except for the residual coming off the furnace. Right now its 62 at 'night' (noon) in the tent and 72 in the room, 66 and 76 during lights on.

Something isn't adding up here.

Fuel is paid for by Native American Mohawk territory so costs not a problem. House has elders in it who get cold cause he just had brain surgery it’s his grow in just helping. Hot air goes upstairs is temp is set for 78-80 then upstairs is a sauna minus the humidity. I’m getting a humidifier for his tent just fort figure out the temps

Intake cool outside air and exhaust into a different room. It'll take some trial and error to figure out the ratio of outside and inside air for your intake. I'd start with a 4" pulling in from outside and a couple of 6" pulling in from inside. I'd also have cold air intake up high above lights.

Can you give us a sketch of the upstairs?

Would it be possible to seal your tent room from the rest of the house with a Visqueen wall & Gorilla tape?

And then maybe pop a hole in the ceiling and run 1" + hose from the tent into the attic for cool.

I’ll draw it up when I get home
