Hey :) anyone try this ?

biggest red flag to me about this seed bank/seller is them offering over 1,000's strain to buy.

me personally would see this and not buy.

but hey don;t listen to me maybe they fire... idk

Rsc now got hopar valley seeds in at a fraction of the price others do case your intrested in more bud
Hey mate, i've read a lot of your posts in various threads and you really seem to know your stuff when it comes to genetics, breeders etc. You mentioned a while back about Skunk Special by Female Seeds being a decent old school type of Skunk. So about a month ago i ordered some beans and they arrived today. So just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation.

Edit: I also got their Critical Sour.

Theres some nice catpissy phenos in there and she yields im sure ul get on well with her she likes lots of light especially red end and some phenos are hungrier than others for refrence why its easier to grow in soil vs hydro imo and your welcome mate im always happy to help as for critical sour its one ive not tryed from them i think i know its more of a outdoor thing have heard its decent tho so it should be decent too tbh skunk special is great outdoors too if you got the climate for it it was originally a greenhouse type strain when it was selected just those buds get huge so bud rot is a risk in less ideal environments and indoors due to the weight of the buds id reccomend some support too man good luck anyway

I just noticed your in aus you guys can grow trees i imagine you would be lucky enough to be able to run it in or out

When I seen this thread months back it inspired me to pop some 20 year old beans i made and never even ran, they all sprout, I sprouted about 10 more recently

South african durban poison X Skunk crossed to Dutch Passion Orange Bud then Recrossed back to Orange Bud 25/75....

Its retro, nearly 2 decades in the fridge.....
Her sister pulled sativa durban...

Lookin for that skunk leaner.....Lookin for that orange bud honestly, last time I seen her she was covered with seeds....

I know it’s been a while
Do you mind sharing how you setup your seeds for germination . I have 5 seeds left that are 20-30 years old . Very possible RKS Hoping to get lucky and get them to germinate .

Im old school, straight out of the fridge and into inoculated seedling soil.....
if your seeds were not in a fridge for 20 years then your going to need luck
Idk depends where u store them and your climate i guess cos ive had good luck popping seeds that are 20+ that only been stored in a drawer even the crap ones pop but they just like give up soon after ime i think those ones have used up there food stores just in a effort to stay alive all those years thats just a theory of mine mind you and dark dry and cool conditions is all you need unless its super long term in that case you could always freeze em

1. Store seeds in fridge until ready, then remove from fridge for 2-3 days prior to germination
2. Soak pinto beans in a jar of water the night before you want to start seeds
3. Scarify seeds with sandpaper lined matchbox
4. Soak seeds in 10-20% H2O2 (3%) and water solution for a few hours first
5. Strain off soaked pinto bean water; Move seeds from H2O2/water to pinto bean water for rest of day/night
6. Continue germination as usual, paper towel method, straight in soil, whatever.

Thanks
I have a 200 ppm of Gibberellic mixed as well . Great to see this option shared , I soaked beans last night lol
I know it sounds crazy but I only have 5 left out of 10 and want to give them every chance possible.
I’m even going to sterilize the jars lol

I have a bunch from a 2018 grow that do the same thing.
They have been stored at 65 in the dark in baggies. They pop, and fizzle out. Seem to not have enough energy in there to survive much past germination

Ive got ones older than that that pop easy and dont just some lines seem to last longer in storage than others it seems i know wild and ruderal genetics have variable germ rates at best but domestic lines stored ok should be good for decades mind you where im at isnt super warm lol

The pinto bean water is for extra nutrients, to help those old ones along.

I would be careful with Gibberellic acid, it's easy to mess things up with that.
Thanks for the tips ! I’m playing with the ppm for gibberellic on sun flower seed as a test . What I read it’s very dependent on seed type . Some do nothing at 500 , do well at 750 but die at 1000 .
I only could find one reference on cannabis recommending 200 .
I was planning using the gibberellic as a last ditch effort with one seed . Do you think a one minute shake on 400 grit sound about right ?

Yeah you don't need to shake too long.

Might try that currently with old old ones i was using water soaked in tomato seeds as the enzymes help germ but i find many lack energy soon after they pop maybe the pinto bean food might help those ones thanks for the idea man i never messed with gibbrelic acid for germination myself i know its hard to get right and if its too high ppm does more damage than good from all i read

Just started whole pack of Sterling Skunk repo by csi. just ran grape soda skunk bc1 by meangene and all you get is grapey/lime skunk. Hopar Valley Selection #2 isn't skunky but is damn sure pungent like a chemical smell. reminded me of something like chem or tk maybe.

let the hunt continue...
How did the sterling green turn out smell wise and effects
