Recommendation for small oil filled heater?

I’m looking for a little boost in my 3x3 tent. While I’m not totally comfortable leaving a heater in the tent, oil filled looks to be the safest choice.

Can anyone recommend heaters they are currently using? Needs to have a pretty small footprint, and onboard temp control, ideally. Someone on an earlier thread recommended a flat looking model from Newair which looks perfect, but I can’t find it anywhere. Would love to hear from others using heaters and growing in similarly tight spaces. Thanks in advance!

I bought a 700 W oil filled radiator off Amazon in Canada that is working well in my 4x4 tent. There are 1500W radiator type heaters, but don't think you'd need that much heat. I think mine is Costway brand, but I am sure there are others.

Just ordered a 700w version from Amazon too. A little under 6” at the base. Will be tight in there, but should warm things up a bit.

Build a portable electric radiant floor panel for your tent, just like the bathroom you did, but smaller. I know they make smaller sections, and you can cut and modify them if you really need too.

A little 3x3+ waterproofed plywood panel, with fancy tiles. Use some smaller green ones and make a large cannabis leaf, or some other cool design, lol. The thicker the tile, the better though. Won't be as heavy as pouring a small slab of concrete or using cinder block like I suggested..

Well, maybe you could actually shave a lot of weight, and just seal the tile thinset itself after you trowel it into the mesh wire panels, and buff it out all smooth. Finish and seal it off nice like a concrete countertop with whatever color or texture. Don't put any tiles on at all. You wont see them anyway, unless you put it inside the tent. Even then, you want your tent flood liner over it. Nah, just tile it like the manufacturers recommend...

I got too many idea's in my head right now. I'm thinking of using a 50 foot gutter de-icing wire kit I got and taping it right to the bottom of a flood tray, just like a radiant floor panel configuration. I'll have radiant heated flood trays before too long...

Thanks for the suggestion. That one looks like it has a great profile. I had checked it out also, though it’s not actually an oil heater, which is what I was looking for as they seem a bit safer and I’m definitely paranoid on that front. I ended up ordering this one, the smallest oil heater I could find. There are actually several at a similar size and price. Really, it’s not going to fit in my 3x3 with the four plants currently in there. I have to decide if it’s better to have four plants growing a bit cool, or three nice and warm. Three is the future I think. Here’s the heater I ordered.

Yes, very similar to the one I use in my 4x4, so you will have enough heat for your space for sure. I think I will keep an eye out for the Newair model, as i might add a 3x3 to my space. Hopefully it becomes available again someday soon.:hump:

The heater arrived today. About the size I expected - doesn’t take too much room in the tent. Here it is in the 3x3, which should stay a little warmer moving forward, though I’m happy enough with growth so far. Had to pull a fourth plant to make room, but that one was a genetically flawed anyway. Nice fit for this little heater otherwise.
