I made stir fry beef with rice and griddled cabbage with mushrooms on my blackstone griddle. It’s the best cabbage I’ve ever cooked. I got that griddle on a black friday sale and I’m still figuring out my technique with it but my Philly cheesesteaks have reached a new level. I should have taken pics but my wife said porn is porn even when it’s food porn and was like wtf hmmmm it’s not a fight I’m mentally prepared for right now so no pics until I’m to rumble with her.

I was thinking some loaves today. I have a rye starter going also but it's not as active yet.
Living in Alaska I was gifted a sponge from a 100+ y/o roadhouse in Chicken Alaska.
Sadly it didn't survive the trip to warmer clime.

That sucks. This was from a friend just before Thanksgiving. I've made a few loaves with it already. I love fresh bread. You gonna start a new one?
Even if it had survived it would have acclimated to your local yeast varieties. So start a starter now

Took this yesterday. The possible dusting they said we might get turned into the biggest single day snowfall in 80 years.
Forecasters predicted a trace of snow, then Portland set an 80-year record. What happened?
It's especially tough to predict snow in Portland, where winter temps often hover just above freezing.

Yeah it was crazy. Expected the snow to stop after awhile but that weather front just parked itself off the coast sending moisture into the cold air coming down the gorge. It didn't stop. Had to put chains on the ladies car so she could get to work Thursday morning.
I'm not a fan of the snow.

Ran to the store this morning, roads are improving quickly. Main drags are at least paths, side streets are still snow and ice covered.
