That's nuts, hope you guys stay safe and keep the power on. Write your name and phone number on stuff outside that can blow away. We got a call after a tornado in Texas because our trash can had flown about 5 miles away and the nice lady that found it called me up. One of the reasons I left Texas was the crazy storms, awesome lightning shows though.

We're used to it man.. this is the first Tornado of the season, so we all get excited.

I guess they don't call it tornado alley for nothing. I went through 3 tornados in TX with only one being really sketchy because we had moved into a trailer park while waiting for on post housing at Ft Hood. We all know tornados have magnets that draw them to trailer parks.

We got some friends that just built a house at the top of a big hill, totally exposed to high winds. It's a manufactured home, so they'll be coming to our place pretty quick. They don't have a shelter. What freaks me out more than a tornado, is being in the storm cellar after a tornado has leveled your home, and you're stuck under a pile of bricks and debris. You'd suffocate a slow death as everyone is breathing out 30,000 ppm of CO2. But!.. I've only been down in there maybe 5 times in 22 years. I'll only go down there if the tornado is within a mile of me, and is heading my way... otherwise, I just watch it.

One of the main things I'd want if I built one is a separate exit for just that reason. A short run of pipe to get away from the rubble and a hatch to keep pressure from building during the storm. I've seen survival shelters built that way when prepping was still popular on TV.

Was headed into my shelter a minute ago. Sirens going off and David Payne was tracking that hook right toward my house. Went outside to look at the sky and mother nature looked angry! It passed over us pretty quick without damage. Nothing on the ground when it screamed by.
