Ok all you Techies.. looking to cut the cord on Dish

What are some good options if I have a good Wifi (35mbps..not bad for country living) signal? Im looking to get rid of Dish and just stream. We mostly just listen to XM during the day and watch shows during the evening. We do like to watch some major network stuff like American Idol, The Voice, etc. I have an unlimited data 5G gateway, just wondering if it's worth messing with, or just continue to pay Dish $109 a month.

You'll need to look at the different streaming services and see which ones have what you like to watch. I'm not sure about all the network channels (some of them have their own streaming service), but a lot of them are on Hulu I think. Hulu has packages that will get you Hulu + ESPN + Disney. $15/mo? something like that. But roughly all the different providers are going to be somewhere in the $15 per month range each.

The shows you listed are available on network television with local channels. ABC, CBS, NBC, etc... I don't know about where you are but here in Portland you can get the local channels with a $20 digital antenna. I cancelled all television with comcast here awhile back and just watch free streaming stuff and youtube these days and don't miss anything.

It could be as simple as getting a cheap digital antenna.

I also looked into other Pay streaming services and they were no cheaper than just sticking with comcast and they all carried the same crap I have no desire to watch.

I know... there's like 250 channels of bullshit on tv.

Hey go to craigslist and look ok up fire stick that's unlocked gots everything free new movies old movie all the TV shows and it's all free they cost like 100$ if you find right person I have had one for 2 years and no problems at all

Ok coo. Thanks!... I've been trimming the fat here and there. I just switched my Internet and cell service and saved $90 a month and got free Netflix and Paramount with the pkg.... lost Apple Music, but that's cool.

Yeah get a roku. I bought a smart TV easily 10 years ago and it has a roku now because the Hulu and Netflix and everything else that is on the tv, is now unsupported. Roku is inexpensive compared to a smart TV you can put it on basically anything with a hdmi port.

My remote has a Roku button on it, as well as Netflix and Amazon, so it's ready.

There are some good streaming devices mentioned. We've had a couple of Roku's and they're decent. Newer ones are way better. I'm assuming you meant 35 MBps (Megabytes/s) and not Mbps (Mega bits/s). There's a big difference.
