The occasional seed you find in a bud, if grown, will not exhibit the same qualities as the bud it came from. It will almost always hermaphrodite a few weeks about halfway through, rendering the buds a weak mix of familiar cannabis littered with lots of half developed seeds.

I'm really sorry if that's been your experience but many others began their cannabis growing journey with bag seed. Best part of bag seeds (besides their price) is that it's usually female, which is what the OP's is.

If itdoes herm, will I be able to tell before the male parts open? I am growing an auto in the same tent and definitely don’t want to mess that one up. The bagseed was just practice so wouldn’t be the end of the world to throw out but would hurt me a bit haha.

It is a bit of an assumption here that bag seed is the product of hermaphroditic reproduction. Not everybody grows from clones or feminized seeds. Tons of people, myself included, grow from non-feminized seeds and grow from seed to flower without taking cuts. If you grow from non-feminized seed and you're bad at sexing, and most people that I've met are, there is a decent chance of accidental fertilization.

When you buy seed from a breeder there is(in theory) a higher chance of the resulting plant more consistently exhibiting the qualities of the parent plants, but it's never a guarantee no matter how much you spend, and if you don't want to spend a bunch to grow decent herb I say go for it. Bag seed can be great and it's free.

Hey gang, seems this is somewhat on topic, so as a Newb about to undertake outdoor grow #2 I have questions ;)

I have bag seeds from my Sister In Law's home grow (they are despite this, very fastidious growers and grow really good bud indoor and out). She grew Pink Mango & Jack Herer via fem seeds (from CropKing) and both turned out great. Super potent and wonderful smoke. I would love to give these seeds a shot. My Wife loves the effect of Pink Mango. Question is, what is the likelihood of these grows (if successful) ending up anything like the source bud in terms of flavour? (I know potency is more attributed to grow and curing conditions). Also, because these are technically 'bag seed' is there any validity to the belief that they are more likely to herm out?

As a side, I am also going with Lambs Bread (fem) and Apricot Kush (regular but cultivated from Weathered Island seed bank, not bag). Getting excited to start this season! Looking forward to utilizing the knowledge base on this site for a successful grow this season ;)

Depends on how stable the genetics are. If they werent intentionally making seed and said seeds were the result of a plant herming there is probably a greater chance that the progeny could herm.
