Late flower issues

I’m looking forward to trying more organics next round. These seem to be holding their own despite some apparent mistakes along the way (likely not enough feed when they needed it most, early flower?). Buds are swelling slowly and the pistils browning. Little sign of amber trichs yet. All three are in different places developmentally. I’ve cut away some of the more worrisome leaves. Gave the bushy girl an almost full dose of nutes with epsom as recommended (big bloom and tiger bloom), and the fade seems to have slowed. Not winning any prizes, but I’m pretty confident this will keep me content till the next, hopefully improved grow comes in.

I appreciate the feedback and welcome more.

Posting a pic of the whole grow, plus cola shots from the two that are closest to ready, though still a little bit to go. Would you consider taking any of these down based on health? My temptation is to keep them going, with big bushy probably the furthest off, though those buds are nice and dense and plentiful.

Just a little update. Plants were definitely all worth saving and nurturing to the end. One is still going. I bought a little hand held, Wi-Fi microscope to get a good look at trichs and was surprised at the number that were turning amber that I really could not see with my 30x magnifying glass. Not many, but some.

Even with some mid-grow deficiencies/mistakes, the early returns seems very nice and the harvest should be decently abundant. A premature harvest would have been a mistake. Some would definitely say I took the first two early.

I purposefully harvested one Runtz earlyish, with lots of cloudy trichs and scattered amber and clear, around 90% brown pistils. That’s the one with dried leaf tips in the earlier shots, and is also the cola I’m holding in the shot below. Smaller, lower down nugs from this plant that I quick dried are fruity, tasty and provide a nice high. Harvested around day 77.

I’m keeping the other Runtz going to the later side of things. Current pics below. This one is around 80 days old now. There was some fade apparent a few weeks ago. As recommended here, I gave her a good dose of bloom nutes, and she’s held steady. The nugs on this one are thick, plentiful and coming along really nicely. May well be my best haul to date (this is grow three, starting last summer). Though showing lots of white pistils still, there are also increasing numbers of amber trichs visible. No hurry here, but excited for those buds.

I’m not winning any prizes, but learning and keeping my head where I like it. Nice to be liberated from third party providers.

Good job, no one knows or cares if they were a beauty queen in their past life :) You nailed it.

I’m pretty sure the answer to part of my original inquiry is that I didn’t feed enough as the flowers grew, at least with this plant (all three had different needs). She benefitted from the late dose of feeding, but then I backed off again, not exactly sure when harvest would come (I’m sure she could have taken one or two more rounds in retrospect).

She’s continued to swell nicely, regardless, and I think we’re almost there. What do you all think? Got a cheap Wi-Fi microscope that I’ve been having fun with. Here are some closeups. Beginnings of amber on the calyxes and lots of amber on the sugar leaves.

Are others with me that she’s about ready to chop? I’m feeling this weekend.
