look how poorly their best shot compares to the much smaller commercial charge
Not arguing that, but the Ukrainians can get much better results with a copper cone and some more DIY precision, it need not be perfectly focused and often the directional effect is enough. Some of these anti-tank artillery rounds detonate well above the target and an NLAW is around a meter or more, once they form that high velocity nail it sticks around for a while and you can see them go through the tank and keep going for 10s of meters. This is DIY stuff, but it is plenty good enough and they do have engineers who can DIY and come up with basic designs using common materials.

Or they could order a containerload of those nice commercial ready-mades. They’re small, light, they’re not expensive, and they make for higher mission success rates.

Keep it cheap, the drone costs $300 and the charge $100, they might be running low on RPG warheads, but they could contract out to a small company in Poland who could whip out a design and crank them out. PVC and ABS drainpipe is easy to acquire and work with and the proper cone could make it work quite well.

In the end, it led to the destruction of the remnants of the Russian empire when the Soviet Union tried to rise from the grave again and take Ukraine. They were still a lingering threat after the cold war, but the threat turned out to be largely a myth, one the Ukrainians exploded it rather spectacularly, and they are bleeding them white of equipment, officers, men and arms. They are fucked economically and technologically and cannot produce modern arms or much of anything including new tanks. When the Ukrainians are done with them, they will be licking their wounded assholes for a decade inside their borders at least, plenty of time for Vlad to die, one way or another. Plenty of time for Ukraine to prosper, develop it oil and gas resources and be about the strongest army in Europe aside from the Germans with proper modern equipment, an air force and a navy. The Russians won't want to lean on the red-hot stove with the remaining stump for a long fucking time after this epic ass kicking.

I watched the whole two hours, got to give two thumbs up to the girl. Some highlights, first for ten minutes, the others five more or less. She nails Russians in the first section. The other segments give good context on what Ukrainians feel. Not to say that other sections are not of interest, in the early part of the interview she talked about her dad being blown up while standing on his balcony, interesting later with the air raid siren she will move into the corridor if things get serious.

Take it out of the 350 billion minimum of Russian money ya have easy access too, there is over a trillion in Russian public and private funds held abroad plus property that could be gotten with a bit of effort and determination. Rebuild Ukraine, compensate the people and pay the aid, gifts and loans back in one fell swoop with Russian cash. Of course, MTG and the magats will refuse the billions in payback money or want to, saying it was stolen from the poor Russians who did nothing wrong.

Maybe it's just me, but Russia appears to be sleep walking into disaster in Ukraine and Putin and the leadership seem disconnected from reality and appear powerless in the short term to avoid catastrophe. RUN! RUN while you can fool!

The generals and talking heads have largely grown ominously silent on some matters...

All volunteers and all highly motivated and very aggressive, they are just one strike force, there will be more, and we have no idea of the real numbers.

Ukraine’s counteroffensive: What is the chance of success or the price of failure? |DW News

Zelenskyy has received an official welcome from the Polish president Andrzej Duda on a visit to Warsaw. Poland has been a close and vocal ally of Ukraine.
Warsaw has provided extensive military support, and Duda has just announced that Poland is to supply Ukraine with 14 MiG fighter jets.
Military analysts are expecting Ukraine to launch a spring counter-offensive in the near future. Newly delivered tanks and longer-range rockets supplied by western allies may provide an edge. The government in Kyiv say it appreciates that assistance - and stresses that its goal its regain control of all its territory.

I find it funny that both Donald and Vlad appear to be going down in a panic at about the same time, though Vlad got indicted before Donald. Joe just sat back and mostly watched both dig their own graves, though he did help quite a bit with digging Vlad's. If ya want revenge on Vlad and Russia for fucking with America and imposing Trump on ya with a million extra covid deaths, then Joe will deliver on both Donald and Vlad. Donald will end up in a cell and Vlad perhaps out a window or his tea will glow in the dark.

A Ukrainian official recently shared a video showing a stockpiled "drone army" amid the ongoing war with Russia.

Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ukrainian deputy prime minister for innovation, education, science, and technology, wrote in a translated Telegram post: "Powerful drones are our competitive advantage over the Russians. 'Birds' change the course of war and save the lives of soldiers."

He said: "During the nine months of the UNITED24 project, the Drone Army contracted 3,200 UAV complexes for over UAH 4 billion (over USD 100 million). The doctrine of the use of UAVs was completely transformed. [Over 7,000] military personnel have been trained as drone operators."

According to The Kyiv Independent, the "drone army" is a combined project between the Ukrainian digital transformation ministry and the United24 organization. The project helps to supply Ukrainian soldiers with drones, as well as train them on how to use them, the newspaper reported.
