They're still in pre spawn up here, no beds yet so they're chasing shit. Love it, Wal-Mart "midnight special" is all I throw right now. No pigs yet but a couple good chunkers. Another week and I'll slow it down with some plastics

I find it strange that Americans love bass fishing so much yet the season is open when they are spawning? Bass isn't that huge here there's lots of other large sport fish but our bass season is closed until sometime in late June. No bed fishing allowed

There are bass everywhere there is fresh water. There are bass living in brackish waters down by me as well.

They are everywhere over here

There are tournaments all year long for big money as well.

Same here. We have many tournaments for walleye, salmon and trout. There's bass tournaments as well. It's such a frowned upon thing here to fish them off beds and illegal too. Just diff places diff rules....

Tournaments are way worse for fish stocks than bed fishing.

Depends. Our salmon and trout (for the most part) are put and take anyways. We don't stock bass though

It's terrible here guys catch bass in 90 degrees temps and keep them in makeshift coolers all day.Throw the dead ones in the water and brag about the money.

Bassmasters penalizes people for bringing in dead fish, they are all released back into the lake after weighing.

The bigger tournaments fish huge waters that can withstand some pressures and also are almost unfishable in summer due to water sports.My home lake is 70 acres and they fish for money every 2 weeks 20 boats or so.The two factors that led to the decline was tournaments that averaged 15 dead fish and who knows how many died after release.Also one man who kept every fish legal size ,but he fished 200 days per year for several years.

You got me rethinking my wish for me when my dead body gets burned up. I, since around 14 yo have wanted to be cremated and my ashes to fertilize some pot plants and that herb to be smoked with my loved ones.

Now I gotta come up with a way to also involve those ashes and fishing somehow.

They walked this fish in a head wiind.It was beat.They let it go under the pier and when the wave was right ,they pull it around the piling .which is wider stance than the pier.Then they wait with it on for the next wave and maybe get by 2 or 3 pilings..Allway to this picture

Caught this at a small lake where I was working on a cottage. 2nd cast using a homemade spinner. Immediately released back into the lake after it posed for the photo. Not huge I know but haven’t fished for 15 years and it was nice to wet a line and land something.
