Clones - Refrigerator - Questions

I had 18 Blueberry Cupcake clones I put in the fridge on February 27. When I put them in the bags, I made sure they were dry and put them in individual sandwich baggies, I then pressed the air out of the baggies, sealed them, and put them all in a bigger ziploc baggie. I put them in the crisper drawer.

I pulled those out yesterday and went through them. 10 appeared to have a little fuzz on them so I didn't even open the bags. 8 looked just like the day that I cut them, so they went into rapid rooters. I also cut another 16 fresh off of the tall plants. I put 8 in rapid rooters and bagged up the other 8 and put them back in the fridge. They are now all in the 2x2 tent on the heat mat. I stopped and bought a cheap dome for the tray so I hopefully don't need to blast the humidifier in the tent all day.

Question: What is the ideal temp and humidity level for the plants? I misted the rapid rooters with ro water when I put them in there. Should there be any nutes in there? I have a 100w vivosun led in the tent. Should it be on 25% or are they alright in the dark? I checked them this morning and they all looked great and standing up under the dome.

Depends how long they're in the fridge for, they usually take a couple days to 'wake up' again. I dip mine in a h2o2 or pool shock bath before they go into the bags and after they come out and remove any fuzz. If the stem is goey or brown it gets tossed. Rooting % can be a bit lower than just taking cuts and rooting them right away, but it's a great method to buy some time in-between

I was a bit surprised. All the stems were nice and stiff. There was no brown or gooey. I did go ahead and snip an extra 1/4 - 1/2" off of each clipping. I didn't even open the baggies with fuzz in em. They went right in the trash. Not trying to introduce any funky stuff into the air.

I went ahead and turned the led on 25% this morning. I got to thinking that leaving it in the dark Or very weak light That was inconsistent was going to force them to flower. I amusing what I have for this round. I gave away my few 2' fluorescent fixtures I had. In the future, I will pick something up for this specifically.

Clones all looked great and pretty perky this morning. Under the dome is staying between 72 and 75°F and between 75 and 88% rh. We will see what the addition of the light does today.

10 days in and 2 of the refrigerator clones have a single root showing outside of the rapid rooters!!!

Super pumped to find out that they can still root after that long in the fridge. Not a bad way to keep some backups on hand. We will see just how many more show roots over the next few days. Then the fun part of growing the refrigerated cuttings vs the fresh cuttings and see if there are any noticeable differences between the two.

1 would 100% recommend taking at least twice what you need. It's not like they really take up any more room. At least not how I stored em.

I personally keep my cuttings in a completely humid probably 100% humidity dome for the first week or so, then I remove the dome and continue misting them as needed while they're in Root Riots. I mist the root riots if they look light blonde in color where I can visibly tell they're losing moisture.

Environment is 75-80 °F 60% humidity once the humidity dome comes off, keep in mind humidity domes even with the vents opened a the top can still hang out in the high 95-100% humidity range. Lots of growers use those aero cloners where it either uses an airstone or sprayers to root the cuttings with no soil/coco and I barely ever see them using humidity domes at all.

Different techniques, interesting discussion though.

These are my typical numbers low to high. I learned the plants really like consistency. Cooler nights, warmer days.
Veg/Clone 78-85 °F 60-65% RH
Bloom 72-80 °F 48-52% RH
