Lowering light intensity at the end of flower

Ramping up light is self explanatory. You should never use more light than the plants are able to tolerate at that certain point in time. It's all about following the plants response.

It's however tiering with people trying to sound like they're reinventing the wheel and putting out statements without any real proof of concept or data to support their claims?

Sounds to me like they had proof of concept in increased quality and production amounts.

The article includes data that proves the point, and the best part is they discovered the benefits by accident.
All I'm saying is, its worth consideration.

I feel like it's good to back off of both light intensity and EC towards the end. If you dim the lights, the plants won't eat as much, and they naturally slow down anyway. Only a slight reduction though. Once the buds stop bulking you're basically just keeping them alive to finish up their chemistry.

Interesting that you said that about the aroma... We've never run temps this low towards the end, and we have noticed that the pungent smell is not near as intense as the first 2 runs we did with higher temps.

I know this is years old but people do come across this information and in the years since this comment a lot has been studied and learned. The reason you’
smell more pungent smells at a higher temperature is because you’re burning off more of your turpine’s. Cooler temps is what research says to do in 2023

Does anyone lower the light intensity at the end of flower? Like 1-2 weeks before harvesting. Just curious if there is any benefits maybe progressing the ripening of the buds. I know peeps do it if they're experiencing heat issues but I'm curious if there's benefits in a proper controlled room. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Old thread but you were right about lowering intensity at the end of flower. Anyone new reading this you do not raise intensity towards the end of flower just like sun intensity gets lower and cooler in the fall it turns out nature had it right all along

I'm in week 7 of flower and I've already reduced from 100 to 75%, it can go much further.
Do folks also reduce the hours of light too? Instead of 12/12, do they go with 10 hours of light or less? To echo mother nature in that regard as well?

Ive tried both ways and I dont crank down the intensity all the way but I do a little. I've found that brix is higher when it's more intense and little warmer then when I kick down the temp and intensity.

How did it go? I am currently running week 7 and have set it to 75% dimmed. Did you go with less hours of light? And more darkness? If so how did it go? I know this old but worth a shot lol any help appreciated
