Yours must not be the pro 2000w. They're certainly not semi-blurple. I previously used the BESTVA 4000, a complete blurple that grew a Romulan pretty nicely but wouldn't do anything for my other plants.

I am interested in your HLG, do they make those lights for a 2 x 5 setup, and without getting hot? I'm noticing the only downside to my grow is yield. I don't know if another LED will fix the issue, I pretty much have all my other bases covered. The thing is - I see lots of pics on here of various LED grow lights that don't look any more powerful than mine. Maybe just larger footprint. I was talking to dr greenthumb the other day and he pulls 1-4 pounds dry weight for each plant under checkerboard HPS 1000w. I used to run those lights and not harvest that much, but I certainly did better than I am with these BESTVA LEDs.

It's weird because the trade off is I get to be a lazy bastard and not have to deal with ventilation. I'm in an apartment so not going to cut holes in walls. I am going to move soon, maybe into a a house - and I'm going to go back to HPS unless I can find an LED light that will increase yield... any advice is always appreciated!
My Bestvas are 5 years old, at least, they were just getting away from full burples. The HLG is a great light, they no longer make my model (480W), but have several models and wattages. They have fantastic customer service, I asked them if they had extension cables to move the driver outside the tent. They didn’t, but sent me complete instructions on how to do it, as well as where to get all the necessary parts!!! My light will veg 5x5 and flower 4x4. I have the Rspec not the Bspec. The Diablo and Scorpion models are beasts.

Was that your BESTVA light?

I have yet to see grow comparisons between LED lights and have had large op growers tell me LEDS will never stand up to HIDs... Have you harvested a pound or more per plant? I am going to start searching for more opinions. I don't know if people are out there pulling pounds with these LED lights, and how you really calculate the power output...

Get your temps and humidity right and growing under modern led is easy. My previous run I pulled about 22 ounces out of a 3 x 3.5 foot walk-in closet under 480 watts through 4 hlg qb 288 boards. 4 plants in promix with minimal training, just topped twice and let em go. Could have pulled more with more canopy management, but its already way more weight than I need for personal so I don't bother.

Well there's many parts to the equation..

If your not adding co2 in sufficient amounts by tank or proper air exchange then all the best lighting in the world won't help.

Also don't confuse a hotter led light fixture for more heat..
That's just the heat sink ability..
A 300w led will put out the same heat no matter how hot or cool I is to the touch.

People say alot of things.
Yield per plant means nothing either..

Yield per square foot is what matters.

Someone with multiple lights will get more than someone in a tent because stray light is hitting from different angles.

Quality LED's are at least as good as HPS, there have been studies. Plus, you get less heat and much longer lasting lights with LED's. My Bestva is 285 watts from the wall, it's an older model, looks like this:

Here's the HLG:

Does it reduce the zip noise too?
Hope you are not anxious corey with zippers :P. As you know im too aware of noise, and im a little too focused on it cause im person with anxiety. My first homebox tent with big sturdy zipper is loud as wild sex with chick from the bar, i guess those oils are good solutions. I heard even pencil (graphite from it) can lubricate the zipper

Yeah you can also get a chap-stik style which is for boat snappers and zippers. It makes a huge difference!! I think it's called zipper lube
Hmm I wonder if it would make my work pants zippers better too. I'll have to try it out
I was considering buying one for my homebox zippers (size of those zippers is monster), so as you say the wax-stick ones works also good ? Anyone have any experience with zipper lubricants causse there is a few types of them

This is the one I got but there are more types I think any will work. There are also liquid versions I saw from different brands. It's cool cause u can use it on other things too

Have 2 small vivosun tents and like everything about them except the zipper.

The 2 thin fabric "flaps" cross over each other and end up in the zipper teeth if careful attention is not paid.

If the flaps are not layered properly it causes a light leak as well.
All tents have that feature…..As you zip you just lead with your finger and it will never get caught again.

Yeah, nearly ever piece of vivosun kit I’ve bought has been trash. A few things with non moving parts or incredibly simple mechanics work ok. Like grow bags and the little $25-$30 4in in-line fan(same one as i-power, and vivohome), hid bulbs, scissors, carbon filters. I’ve had bad luck with their ballasts, bigger exhaust fans(new plastic style not old metal jet looking thing, those are solid whatever the branding), tents. Just terrible quality control.

If quality is the concern, stay away from 99% of the Chinese made "budget" stuff people praise on this forum. Mars Hydro this, alibaba that, no thanks lol.

Thay sucks man, sorry you dealt with that. They sell "iffy" quality products and this isn't the first bad experience I've read about, but probably the worst.

You'll pay more, but AC Infinity won't do you like that, pretty sure.
Ac infinity really is great quality and they have great customer support. And it’s really only like 20$ more usually.

20 more what? Dollars? Try like 50-100 more. You can get a 6" inline fan for like 50-60 bucks, the AC Cloudlines are all well over 100. Still worth it IMO
Their fans are manufactured in china, they are not the highest quality. Ac infinity is great if we speak about controller and their system overall but for that price they are 2-in-1. They also invested a lot in marketing and this is the real reason people praise them. HVAC/fan experts could elaborate on the quality more, but it isnt really better or worse than all those vivosunish companies

Newflash, bro

EVERYTHING we use in our grows is manufactured in China.
