So Chocolope is one of my all time favorite strains. Ever since Ohio has had its medical program, the Chocolope is the one strain i keep coming back to over and over again. A while back I found a tiny little seed in my grinder after grinding up a Chocolope bud. For shits and giggles I tried germinating it with success. Long story short. This plant has turned into an absolute monsterous female. Ive got it growing by itself in a 10 gallon pot with living soil and its almost completely taken over my 4x4. Its been flowering for almost a month now, but Im not getting any slightest smell at all.
Just curious for anyone thats grown out Chocolope how long it took to grow out and when did any distinct smells start developing? This plant is an absolute beast and id love to keep it around, but. I really hope it is comparable in taste and smell as the original bud i get from the dispensary.20230809_204640.jpg

I've got these seeds in my vault, and I've been DYING to grow them, but have been saving them because I've heard of these getting 10+ feet tall outdoors and I dont have nearly the headspace for that right now.....

Best of luck, Growmie. I'm hoping someone here has tips for the both of us.

I could defiantly see them turning into full blown trees outdoors. I did a short veg on this one, worried she'd get out of hand and im glad i didnt go any longer. My tent is maxed out. Id say pop em man. Hoping for some tasty mango chocolate coffee tasting budz.

Dayyyym dude that looks like some awesome yields of some fire!!!! And yes its the one strain that checks all boxes for me. The stuff i get from the dispensary has a really unique mango/chocolate/ earthy flavor. Its exquisite!!!!!! Im hoping those traits carry over. My buddy grew some dna chocolope and said his had more of a zezty lemon flavor. Id be happy with that as well.

Chocolope does get over 10 feet tall. I planted 2 this year but one was a male. the one that's left is ~10 feet with September and October to go.

This is my third year with it and I don't remember a strong smell while it was growing unless I pinched a bud. I just opened a couple of jars of it and there was a definite chocolate and fruity smell.

Thanks stoner dude . I did have better pics of the Chocolope flowering that were deleted. Big plants with long colas abounding ( main cola over 2ft long with some serious density...so pretty,
I hated to cut them up for the canning jars. I found them to be an easy strain to grow. Once , I had a Chocolope in a 7gal container ( indoors ) , just about ready to harvest. It vegged for 4months and flowered for 4months......huge colas all over it.
I went downstairs to one of my grow rooms, looked in, and almost hurled. My cat Clive knocked it off the bench. It landed upside down on concrete. After I stopped gagging and shitting myself , I picked her up , got the compressed airline out to clean it up. Luckily, no major losses. They are tough.

Mine is finally throwing off a funky overripe melon smell. Got a long ways to go, but cannot wait to sample the end product.

Chocolope is not stable exactly and there is no telling what terp profile you might get. I had a purple one outdoors that smelled like toffee and it was perhaps the most special plant I ever found. Other phenos were grassy or lemony.

Skunk x Chocolope. This is a Thai dominant pheno with a bit of skunk cherry terps. High stuff. Excellent resin, bitch to trim. I have some seeds of this one. The first seeds I tested were amazingly compact and early indoors and grow huge outdoors. I sprouted on 12/12. Had a haze pheno too with amazingly beautiful photogenic flowers and had no camera to preserve images. Cops took that and a shitload of Chocolope f2's.
