The roots from the hightower (whatever that is) don't look good either.
They shouldn't be matted together as a rope.

This is like I get in the towerMaybe it's a matter of semantics, but the roots pic you posted look like normal healthy DWC roots. Sure, they're tangled together, which is to be expected, but they're not clumped together in a solid mass.
The plants grows good and the roots for me , looks goodThe roots from the hightower (whatever that is) don't look good either.

Interesting, I've never seen such a gizmo. That would explain the long roots without any appreciable branching, as it looks like they have a ways to travel before reaching the nutes. This is like I get in the tower

Is not possible to upload MP4 videos?
that's what i'm going with: mold/disease/infection/bugs. roots dont' look great but i dont' think that would cause those leaf issuesLooks like mold issues. Seen it before with transplant shock. Especially when not lowering nutes a little.
Look at the first root pic posted at 100%; the roots are in rough shape, they're almost entirely covered with the orange kiss of death. You can see some new healthy roots emerging but the vast majority aren't functional. The pythium clogs the root pores and is also what causes them stick together, not unlike plaque on teeth.that's what i'm going with: mold/disease/infection/bugs. roots dont' look great but i dont' think that would cause those leaf issues
i'm with ya. i've had root rot issues too. but i've never had a leaf die from the base upwards like that. rot, for me at least, looked like normal nute lockout w/ burnt tips from the roots not taking in nutes as normal (overfeeding essentially)Look at the first root pic posted at 100%; the roots are in rough shape, they're almost entirely covered with the orange kiss of death. As a recovering long-time dwc grower, I'm quite confident the roots are the primary cause of his issues.
if it was a boron issue, wouldn't thousands of other Lucas/ GH micro users also have the same problem?A boron deficiency in cannabis is relatively rare unless a plant is underwatered or in a really dry environment, and is usually accompanied by other types of nutrient or pH problems that appear as problems with the leaves.
The first signs of a cannabis boron deficiency is abnormal or thick growth tips along with brown or yellow spotting on new leaves.
With a boron deficiency, upper cannabis leaves display abnormal and/or slowed growth. Growing tips may not grow properly, may display twisted growth, and may die off. New leaves may wrinkle or curl.
Plant roots can also be affected by a boron deficiency, showing unhealthy or slow growth. Stems may become rough or hollow. Boron deficiencies are more likely to appear when a plant is underwatered or experiencing very low humidity (very dry air).
A plant with a boron deficiency may look like it has a calcium deficiency because boron is needed for the plant to properly use calcium. New growth is affected the most, and may look like it’s been burnt or scorched. A boron deficiency is often accompanied by an apparent potassium or nitrogen deficiency, as these nutrients are needed for the plant to use boron.
I've not seen a leaf like that either. I did notice, the times I had pythium, that the symptoms were weird and not consitent. I've had plants look otherwise healthy (for a while) but simply stopped growing, to having some where all new growth was twisted/spiraling. I think once the roots are compromised, it can manifest itself differently.i'm with ya. i've had root rot issues too. but i've never had a leaf die from the base upwards like that. rot, for me at least, looked like normal nute lockout w/ burnt tips from the roots not taking in nutes as normal (overfeeding essentially)
@Rblade has this plant ever been outside?
No. Because it's my problem. I have never seen this problem in years. But few weeks ago I run very low levels of water and nutrient solution. So maybe this became toxic, PH fluctuations , or very low quantity of boron. I think that was a mix. I never measure PH .. etc...if it was a boron issue, wouldn't thousands of other Lucas/ GH micro users also have the same problem?
hope so, good luckI think that with a few days or weeks the plants will be ok!
The plant I posted with the orange pythium roots didn't smell either.More photos of the hydro tower where was placed the most affected plant of the firsts photos.
You can see the same boron def.
I think is not pythium or another fungi because the roots smells very good, fresh and healthy.
I think that the problem was my 5liter bucket. Very small for a 6 plants, and I run per 6-7 days, so the level of water is very low and maybe the nutrient solution became toxic or weak. I never measure PH neither. But I have never seen problems before in this hydro tower.
Maybe the stress of the change from the tower to DWC have it's weight too.
The plant I posted with the orange pythium roots didn't smell either.
It very may be a Boron issue, but only because the roots are infected with pythium.
You might want to reconsider checking pH if you're gonna have success in dwc.
Essentially, nothing else matters if the pH is out of whack.
hope you are correct. how do you plan on adding more boron? or do you think fixing the pH will fix the boron defic? So I think that fortunately it's only boron
What's the temp in your reservoir? Add some Calcium Hypochlorite to your res unless you have a chiller that holds it at 68F. I started in NFT rails and I left them because I was unable to reduce the reservoir temps without a chiller and there was no way I was running a reef chiller for some pot in California where my electric bill is insane. So I'm guessing it is root issues r/t to high heat and fugitive peroxide. But if it's Boron let me know how you fix it or find what fixes it. I'm curious!I my room the temperature is hot, even +85F, but now it's around 80F
