Just unclogged a basement floor drain, seems like an annual ritual the past few years. My kitchen sink drains poorly (unvented) unless that floor drain is clear. It all needs to be redone but it's old rotting cast iron buried in concrete.

I've been wondering if it's possible to abandon all the old drain system and replace with pvc above the floor grade. I'm planning a new kitchen in 2 years and this needs to be solved as part of that project. Not anxious to jackhammer the floor up.

Yep, I use an sds max from hf on sugar totes. Worked good when I had to open up a main water line through concrete slab.
