Force cuttings into flowering for sexing

Hi,

I want to take cuttings from my regular seed plants (10 super silver), and flower them for sexing.
I know I can do sexing without it, but I want to try - I am already going to top them so I will have cuttings, I want to experience that.

My questions is, how much time or what sign should I wait for before flowering the cuttings?
Can I do it inside the gify or I need to wait them to root and transplant them and only then switch to flower or can I switch right from the start and keep them in gify?

Thanks

Have i got this right, you want to take clones to determine the sex while you keep vegging the mums?

Or take clones to flower with the mums?

To determine sex from a immature plant you only need a shoot from it in a glass of water and flip that, after 2/3 weeks 12-12 you'll know the sex.

Might as well just use water or clone solution in a glass (and label them well).. No point wasting any root plugs unless you plan on keeping the cuttings around, and revegging the females into monsters in soil or a medium, which is kind of a bonus of the technique.. Or just toss them once you know whats up.

Its kind of strain dependent on how fast the cuts will sexually mature as soon as you force flip them. Taking a top of a small plant as a cutting might possibly take a little longer than taking one from a lower shoot as well, so just be prepared to spend more than a few weeks waiting if that's what it takes. Either way, you'll know sooner than later, and be glad you didn't flip the main plants to find out, and let them continue to vigorously veg out.

One of these days I will continue work on my cannabis sexing pod. Basically a lightproof cylinder shaped pod that your wrap around a branch, with a little battery powered motor with timer that opens and closes a small window every 12 hours, causing only that tiny section of the plant to force itself to flower, while leaving the rest of the plant in veg mode.

NM the mechanical spinning window actually, what was I thinking when I came up with that idea? Way to complicated... I'll just bongsmilie...put a single tiny LED diode in each blacked out pod, that can all be wired up to one small timer. No motors or gears, lol.

LED sex pods, oh yeah! So simple.. I'll whip up a prototype batch soon for when I sex out my next seed run. I gotta 3d printer now too, so they might be kinda fancy.

Thanks, I want to experience cuttings using this method.
My "mums" are 25 days old (since seed) so I have like 2-3 week... I prefer more plants this time than long veg, I hope I will get 4 females

Can I top them for the cuttings now or should I wait more?
