I can see it. Fresh made is definitely different than the stuff from the store. It's not near as thick as the store bought stuff. It is good though. The black walnut syrup is my favorite. I'm not sure I'm even gonna tap any trees this year if the weather doesn't do something.
I've heard of birch trees being used never had that or black walnut sounds interesting. Your temps don't freeze at night then thaw during day where you live?

I've been a busy boy lately. Some of y'all have seen my expanded grow box. I also got a 2x2x4 tent to start seedlings in.
No pictures yet but I just planted some Cherokee Purple, Celebrity and Sun Gold tomatoes plus some mixed hot peppers. Once again we are going to try to grow veggies in Arizona's heat.
That is how i was able to justify another tent to the wife, something to start veggies and herbs in.
And maybe some cannabis sprouts later on.
I now have 3x3x6, 2x4x6, 2x2x4 tents and a 2x2x8 growbox. What I don't have is indoor space. I need to gently prod my son into leaving so I can commandeer the spare bedroom. Oh and I will need another light at some point, though I am surprised at how powerful my old blurple is.

49 degrees out right now with some blue sky visible. The badass atmospheric river only gave us 1.26" of rain, nothing impressive. Might get some showers/thunderstorms this afternoon. Forecast is 60 for a high. Snow levels were rather high however another storm is coming in Sun-Mon that is supposed to be a good snow maker for @BobBitchen to enjoy on the mountain.
Mornin.

Its been pretty much one or the other. We are finally getting close and some people are tapping. I'm only putting out 3-5 taps so it's not a big deal if I do it or not. It's just for fun, but I question the amount of work to actual fun ratio. Lol. I don't make enough to actually sell it to offset the time and effort.

I had a huge River Birch in my front yard. A few years ago a tornado ripped one of its 4 trunks off and hit my house. Kind of unseasonable November weather. When I sawed the stump sap poured out of it for days and the weather was cold enough it made a frozen river of sap. I broke off a few pieces. It has a nice taste and you can definitely see it being boiled down to syrup. I should have removed that whole damn tree though because a few years after another tornado event broke a huge chunk off and took down my power cable. No power for 4 days because they had bigger fish to fry with widespread damage everywhere. I think there were 4 twisters in a line. I had a tree service come and remove that whole thing. Terrible tree for a city lot. Way too big and fragile.

I wanna see pics when you're done! Well before you done done. :D

I had sea bass and spinach pesto risotto last night... so good and I ate every bit of it.

My partner forgot to take her leftover risotto to work so I ate it.

You know it’s not called Aunt Jemima anymore? It’s now Pearl or something like that. I don’t know. Will only eat the real stuff myself!
yea the bottle in my fridge says pearl milling company. I can see how that's seen as racist... tastes the same.

I love the real stuff when they pour it in snow at the sugar bush. Snow taffy on a sick lol. That brings back memories.

29, he and his wife are newly separated. For a while we had the whole brood living with us, 4 extra people! Have you seen the movie Madhouse? That was us.
We have a 3 bedroom house. The 3rd bedroom used to be a girl cave for my wife. Now it's the grandsons bedroom on weekends. Making the 3rd bedroom which would be the guest room, my sons room.
Leaving the master bedroom for the girl cave and the garage for me.
