Blaze & Daze

Not commenting at all about the product, I have absolutely no experience with it at all. I will say that I will never ever come home with a soil, amendment, or anything that either Wal-mart or Lowes keep in their outdoor garden center ever again.

Each store provided me with a catastrophically unmanageable fungus gnat infestation that wiped out my grow both times. Literally didn't see one thing while I poured the soil into the pots. Two days after watering, they exploded out of everything. I tossed the new clones, the flowering plants that had just been transplanted and bug bombed the entire house and started over from seed both times. I think they're selling bags of pure fungus gnat eggs that are dormant until watering for shits and giggles.

I'm more than happy to spend $5-10 more per bag for what they sell at the hydroponic gardening store where they would have a very bad reputation if they let that kind of crap happen to their product. If they did that to one of the growers getting 5 pallets of soil for their grow houses, it's not likely they'd stay in business very long.
I stopped mail ordering anything for growing cept nutes.
If I can not lift the bag cause it's wet or if it has pinholes in the bag it's a big nope.

Best is when you get a bag off a wrapped pallet.
If you get an intact bag that is not 14 months old I still check it by dumping in my 3x4 yard cart and spreading it around. The cart also works great for adding stuff evenly like perlite and EWC.

i hear ya mate.....i was more looking at the company for they're floral seeds. Last weekend i did a walk about on the property and i found a couple areas that i could beautify with more wild flowers etc. In fact i have one section of the property is actually void of anything, trees, bushes, etc...so i figured i could work in that area as a johnny appleseed kind of thing.....when it comes to soils and amendments, i usually do that myself, soils i get from a farm store that local, amendment i usually get from a feed store that close...and i usually don't need much from both, bet i spend less than $30 for all i need, especially if i'm making new stuff....other than that prolly $10 at the most for re-amending....

thanks for chiming in....appreciate it...

Same as mosquito dunks but in liquid form.
Mornin.

Love is in the air. Awakened at 5am to a pair of great horned owls hooting back and forth. The neighbour has claimed to have heard them for a few years now. Guessing they're nesting in the tall white pines but have never seen them.

I can make the owl noise and get them to talk back to me. I hear multiple birds on different perches talking in the evenings. I'd probably wet myself if one of them flew down to see me when I am doing that. Them puppies are LARGE.

I used to have a book of 250 birds and their associated sounds. When our Gkids were by in the winter I showed them how the male cardinal would come around when it's sound was made - they found that pretty cool. Later in the spring a cardinal was persistently on my truck mirror, pecking away and crapping on it - guessing he was enamored with himself or fighting his reflection. When i put a plastic bag over the mirror to deter him from making a mess, he'd climb on the tonneau cover and peck at the rear window. So a placed a toboggen across the rear window, but he still managed to make a mess - little pecker - lucky he was beautiful!

They don't live out here. It was always cool to see the flash of red in the bare trees in winter.

When I was playing tennis regularly years ago, I used to wear a bandana so sweat wouldn't blind me. One time when waiting to return serve my buddy pointed at me at yelled, "LOOK OUT!!!" I instinctively ducked, which was the right reaction. Turned out a hawk mistook the tail of my bandana at the back of my head for a small animal and swooped down at me to snatch it. Could have torn some of my scalp, I'm sure. Urban tennis, you never knew what was going to happen...
