How much longer do you think I should wait before harvest time?...

I didn't get a response in my main thread... www.rollitup.org/t/my-second-windowsill-grow-hoping-to-learn-from-the-mistakes-of-my-first-one.1101411 ...so, here are the 2 plants in question...

1.jpg

This one is Glueberry OG which is listed as taking 8 weeks. I'm actually a day away from week 9.
All the amber colouration has happened in the last 2 or 3 days.

This is Northern Dragon Fuel which is supposed to take 10-11 weeks. Again it's a day from week 9 & already turning amber.
It's an indica strain & might actually have too much of a body-heavy effect if I wait too much longer.

What do people think?

The buds look very young and need maybe a two or three weeks until they are done at least. The pistils are looking fresh and most haven't turned orange/brown yet. The 8 weeks thing is if you are growing under lights I guess, and it will take a bit longer on a windowsill.
I'd give the glueberry at least 2 weeks more. Maybe 3 weeks more for the northern dragon

A while. Yea its been quiet here for a minute. I just type bump on the thread until I get response or just keep rambling lol. When one person joins one stops logging in I guess.

They've actually been getting 8 hours of supplementary LED lighting through the night from a 30cm x45cm 150w grow lamp.
Don't know if that might reduce your timing suggestion a bit? I'm in no hurry though so will happily wait.

I guess this means the buds will fatten up even more. They're already looking great for a window grow!

Research sugar water. Molasses or honey or natural syrup mixed with water would actually benefit those nice looking plants.. probably looking at 2 weeks

Thanks for the tip. It's the first time I've heard about this.

I did some reading (just on this forum) and there's plenty of "discussion" to wade through, much of which is peppered with the same snide conjecture I'm hoping to avoid *insert eye-rolling emoji*

The conclusion seems to be... Sugar = BAD (it'll just attract bugs. Molasses = GOOD (great for soil microbes / bigger & tastier buds).

A couple of other details folk here may not know, without reading the main grow thread. I've been using very good, kinda purpose-made soil containing all sorts of nutrients & peat. On top of this, after the 4 week stage when much of the nutrients had been absorbed, I'd been adding Bio-Grow to my water. Now, during the flowering stage, I've switched to Bio-Bloom - 4ml per litre each time I'm watering, which now is every second day. These babies are thirsty!!

So, would Molasses make a difference? Does this brand look like the kind of thing that'd work best?

As a side note, it's amazing what a difference this premium soil has made. My first grow was done with simple, garden centre soil used for growing flowers & herbs. I had aphids, white fly & scales to contend with within a couple of weeks of the vegetative stage (and the scales went unnoticed until it was almost too late!!!) I'm guessing, from what I've read, it's because the soil will have been stored outside & became infested.
The soil I'm using this time (hilariously marketed, I trust you'll agree) looks & feels like the stuff pro-growers are using on various YouTube channels & there's been zero sign of any pests during the entire growth cycle.

I've probably just jinxed myself in saying this. HA!!

...and one more thing...

At this stage do you think it's worth slowly clipping all the very low, under-developed leaves? They're generally hidden by large leaves & it might help to divert the plants energy into bud growth. Also, there are several leaves that have started to wilt & slowly die, like this...

I wouldn't do this all at once. Just a couple each day to avoid stressing out the plant.

I personally wouldn't remove anything at this point...other than dead leaves. Looks like you have good air flow and light down there.
Remember that leaves are solar panels and store houses.....you need them. :eyesmoke:
Great job for a window grow!
Thanks!

Weird. My previous posts are disappearing. I asked a perfectly good question about molasses & now it's gone. I'll try again...

If I was to use molasses in the plant's water can I simply add it in conjunction with the Bio-Bloom organic nutrients I'm feeding them?

BUMP...with a revised question...

So, I'm guessing from advice here & the supposed life cycle of my plants, that I'm 2-3 weeks away from harvesting.
I've been using 100% organic nutrients & am wondering if I should start flushing the plants now & stop giving them nutrients.
I also bought some molasses & was wondering if it'd be OK to add it to the water, instead of the nutes.

...or, if flushing a load of BS?

Going by this photo 4 weeks min and flushing is a myth, its only useful when toxic build up happens due to operator error

100% agree with this post. Your plants are still actively growing new fresh buds for you. You shouldn’t even be thinking about the end yet.

once the plants are actually showing some signs or ripeness(which will takes weeks still) then you can cut back to half strength nutrients if you want.right now your plants are still feeding and growing.
