I have a cypress 3 that recently gave out. Before getting rid of it I would like to try to fix it by replacing the driver. Any insight would be great.
Has anyone successfully replaced driver for led light before?

Each case would be different, there won't be an ABC guide to it. The old driver would need to be inspected as would the connections.
Most likely it would involve matching wire to wire connections, pcb headers and maybe a little desolder/soldering.
There are quite a few guys on here that have done repairs like this many times and could talk you through it.
We would need some good pics of the driver and electical connection points.

Maybe owner of timber coild give ya a suggestion what to do, that’s a fairly new unit being the strips just a few years ago max.
one of my timber cob versions failed but when talking to dan he asked me to unhook the dimmer, bam the light worked at 100%, dimmer was easy fix and no soldering
owner of timber has a new led company and I’m sure he will try to give ya a good tech support and input

look for dimmer, follow cord and see if u can override it.

This should be a very easy fix. Looks like you have a common driver you can buy from Mouser or DigiKey. The earth, neutral and hot will need to be desoldered from that custom connector after the shrink is cut off. Also you will need to open the connection box to see how the DC and dimmer connections are made...my guess pcb headers or spade connectors.

Good point, if you open that box and take the dimmer wires off that could be one of the issues. A short would cause the light to stay off, leave the wires open would run the light at 100%.

im talking about the dimmer box , the box where it has a dimmer knob on it, follow the cord of that and it should be removed so U can bypass it

Yea its a no go, it must be the driver. Light is still not turning on.

if it was me, give url of this thread, explain ur issue and why and model and even previous purchase info. Even if Dan won’t warrent the product I don’t see any reason why he won’t at least tell u advice on what to do.

I see the rust on some of the bolts. I would check continuity on any switches and fuses first before ruling out the driver. They could be full of corrosion.

You guys seem to have this under control 
If youve made sure its the driver then some small notes:
- those drivers usually have 7 years of warranty with the manufacturer, Meanwell. Id try to get it replaced under that warranty (Cypress are less than 7 years old afaik) thru the seller. Check with Dan he may be able to sort it out for you, even if the main light is out of warranty.
