Good stuff they had to do it on the bigger river near me a bit however the upper reaches are still almost inaccessible to fish sadly I hope that changes soon

“We had a really incredible moment to share with tribes as we watched the final cofferdams be broken,” Ren Brownell, KRRC’s public information officer, told SFGATE. “So we've officially returned the river to its historic channel at all the dam sites. But the work continues.”
The fight to remove dams along the Klamath began over two decades ago, when poor water quality and river flows caused tens of thousands of the river’s fish, mostly Chinook salmon, to die in a massive fish kill in 2002. For thousands of years, Chinook salmon have been a fundamental source of physical, spiritual and economic sustenance to tribal communities throughout the Klamath Basin.
After the fish kill, tribes like the Yurok and Karuk began a fierce advocacy campaign that insisted that removing the dams is a necessary step toward reviving the original ecosystems, migratory routes and spawning grounds of the salmon. A plan to begin the dam removal process was approved by federal regulators in 2022.

Michigan DNR catches its largest sturgeon ever for its sturgeon survey

Earlier this week, the DNR tagged its largest sturgeon by length. The sturgeon was 75.2 inches long and weighed 125 pounds.

First Nation communities have seen the animal as spiritual and social guides, for they play a mystical role in tales and gather community members together."

You are not allowed to take an oversized sturgeon out of the water in this state.

20 years, and it's done. Lost the handle in the drink. Shimano wants 75$ for another one and it's not even the same handle. Looks like I'm buying a used conquest DC off eBay, and keep this one for parts. Sucks considering I just paid 75$ to do the bearings, drag washers, thumb bar, and line guide on this one. Fml. I'll just have to swap the bearings and washers into the new one.....

Use the other one for parts.

I rebuilt ( cleaned really well ) 4 old zebco 33’s this past spring. I had a conversation with a old man and a younger guy at the boat landing and the young guy laughed at my old school gear so I told him it was good for 30# before I had to start playing with them and he boldly laughed again, that’s when the old man spoke and said he will catching fish with his gear long after the damn fish have swim off with the guts to that over priced girly shit you’ve got.

The old saw me give two twenty + # catfish to a family and was pointing and laughing at the young guy. I don’t know what kind of day they had but my refreshed reels worked great . I did find some parts on eBay but I don’t really need them yet.
