Nutrients for soil grows

Would like to start a thread,for Nutrients in soil grows.

Brands used, and amount used and so forth.
and pics of results.

First organics used were advanced Iguana juice grow and bloom. Great results, healthy lush girls! Decent fruiting. Downside smells like vomit and brought in fungus knats at times.
Second organics Humbolt Natural grow and bloom with humbolt equillibrium (calmag)) and humbolt honey es. (carb loader). Even better results, noticeable yield increase! No downside, no stinky organic smells.
Third and final organic, Gaia Green grow, bloom, and glacial rock dust. overall favorite. Amend soil and forget it for three weeks, and then top dress more in. Best flavor flowers, yield on par with humbolt nutrients. Only downside, most expensive organic nutrients.

I use BioBizz. I've used Bionova before, synthetics, but I switched cuz I wanted to go organic. I use the Fish Mix (indoors) for all the grow-type needs. Alg-a-mic is great for calming the plants a bit after a tough training regime. I use 0,5 of recommended dose and every other watering. In the end I might push a little, to like 0,75 of recommended dosage. I dont flush, I leach, for economic reasons, I dont think it makes much of a difference when using organic fertilizer honestly, but yeah, it's expensive stuff.

First time poster here, but currently using Green Leaf Nutrients for my soil grow. I use the Mega Crop for early stages and the add, Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy at a 50/50 mix ration for flowering and cut the Mega Crop to 1/4 dosage all together. These are all Green product certified. All of my equipment is Vivosun: 4x4X80 Pro tent, VSL 4300 430 watt BAr lighting full spectrum, 6 inch exhaust w/carbon filter, 2 6" oscillating fans and 1 9" oscillating fan, 4L humidifier, auto drip irrigation (when away controlled by wifi switch) and E42 controller makes my life easy., My soils are the following: Great Lakes Water Only for 2 of my girls, and I have 2 other planted in a 50/50 mix of Fox Farms Happy Frog and Ocean mix. Both of these soils I added extra perlite and a 1/2 cup of worm castings prior to any plantings. I really like the Great Lakes soil as it is a coco noir and organic compost mix, somewhat lighter and airier that the FF soils. Both though have shown great grows for me. FF holds water slightly better, but that is about the only difference I have noticed. Plants show equal growth, color and happiness, so I'm good.

I make a fortified soil with a base of promix, worm castings, and aeration (Perlite/vermiculite). It gets alfalfa meal, crab shell meal, kelp meal, and neem/karanja meal (50/50 mix) 1/2 cup each per cu foot. Also, I add about 4 cups rock dust/azomite blend, and a 1/2 cup of oyster shell flour/DE (diatomaceous earth) and/or DL (dolomitic lime) for extra calcium. If I’m feeling frisky, Ill add a small amount of high p guano to the final mix. They get a bit of coconut water and aloe in the water like once per week. It’s pretty much water-only with a big enough pot. I store extra tubs of soil, mixed and ready to go. Old root balls get broken up, reamended and recycled. Leaf waste and trim goes outside in composter for veggie garden use. Goal is cheap, efficient, and organic crop.

Curious how a home grower would fare with what you say your mix is consistent of. I guess a commercial grow would benefit, but for a home grower to have everything needed for making a quality soil for say 4 to 10 plants a year, they would have to invest quite a bit. for all the components, have a storage area for the product while not in use and then a mix area. My bags of soil that covered 4 five gallon pots cost me less than $75.00 for all and I will get at least 3 grows (4 plants per) out of what I purchased originally, so roughly $25 per grow of 4 plants 3 times. All the amendments needed to make a quality soil would be well over this I would think. Commercial or larger scale making soil may be the way.

My soil is comparable or better than any soil I’ve bought, and I have enough amendments for a few years of growing, and it cost me less than a single tent run of Canna nutrients. Cost is very low because I’m recycling my soil. My biggest cost is buying fresh castings. I use 15 gallon pots, so that’s a lot of FFOF to buy .

I store my amendments on a shelf. I bought them in bulk, so I paid $1-3 a pound for each one, and also bought from vendors that had free shipping. I store my soil in a few stacked tubs with lids. I mix soil on a tarp, then tub it up. It’s really not that difficult to manage for a handful of plants. I like my results, and I don’t have to do things like mix fertilizer everyday or ph it. I don't think I’ll ever go back to synthetics.

edit: I gave my dad several pepper starts this spring. The ones I potted up in my mix kicked the asses of the ones he put in the FFOF that he bought.

I think most people are using the Pro-mix HP. I use the Walmart stuff and add perlite which approximates the HP. Works great, is pH balanced with mycorrhizal added. It's up to you what nutrients to add.

I was sick of buying bottled nutrients for my indoor grow, and sick of buying expensive soil, so I started reading the ROLS thread about making my own. My soil is comparable or better than any soil I’ve bought, and I have enough amendments for a few years of growing, and it cost me less than a single tent run of Canna nutrients. Cost is very low because I’m recycling my soil. My biggest cost is buying fresh castings. I use 15 gallon pots, so that’s a lot of FFOF to buy .

Great! I plan on reusing my soil as well, just will recharge it with a few items that I ahve already (Gaia Green 444, some silica, worm castings, kelp and a few other items. Probably then have a sample tested to see where its at.
