Upgrading LED Lights

Crap I guess vipar only has a 2.5x2.5 led flower that doesnt have that lenz tech. Weak edges like the mars. Only would be getting it for reduced fire hazard. I guess no rush to upgrade those.

They do give the same ppfd at 3-4 less inches height so thats good but ya. I decided to buy the light when I should. Was just expressing Im starting to be more geeked than usual buying a light.

I guess starting to really like growing on another level.

I wonder if it has half to do with it being bar lights that they spread light better.

I notice the 3/3 light is like 70w more than needed? I liked the efficiency I was getting with the mars or vipar if its the 150w model for the 2.5x5.

My grow bill will be an extra 50$ apprx. So $250 a harvest 2.5 months. Fuuuughh. I really need to sell dope now! Just kiddin.

Is it normal for most the air to force out the top and bottom of filter? As long as it works and moves a bunch of air Im happy. Idk how long it will last though thats only thing bothering me.

Its ready for that ks3000 though. Looks like it can grow one giant plant. 8-12oz plant probably.

This tent is ready though. I got some s hooks on the way that are perfect and might save me 3” of height.

Ok so after looking for alternatives aci has a 3/3 light at 260w and I have a fecida its a after marker type light 235w for 3/3.

Using hydrobuilder calculator it helps determine costs they have one for that. I some how have 12.5 square foot in those tents 2.5x5 but 9 im the 3x3.

I dont get why the 2.5x5’s cost 48$ a harvest to run basically the same as the 3/3 vipsrspectra in there for 50 a harvest.

Id only save 15$ a harvest using shitty lights compared to what Im eyeing. I dont get it. The 2.5x5’s are 300w with two ts1000’s. I appear to be saving in those tents but why not the 3/3 with 3.5 less square foot?

So yea for an extra 15$ a harvest that ks3000 is awesome. Im sold I just find that weird, Im not seeing a correlation or nothing. 24w per square ft 2.5x5 and 35w for the 3/3 per square foot. But they cost the same almost?

Someone showed me this. My ts1000 at 18”. I guess puts some of it inter perspective now that I look again. Im getting like 2-300 more ppfd per square and a whole extra grid of similar ppfd around the 2x2 map we see here but in the 3x3.

My 3/3 should be alright. Paper towel sucks into intake vent and when putting over the filter the paper towel sticks to my hand. A narrow strip around the center. So I think its alright.

I do filter outside for my dry tent pounds of weed no smell maybe a tiny bit but a conditioned smell. Sometimes not even that.

Get them while you can! I searched everywhere for long time. Perfect clips you only get with specific led lights otherwise you just cant find them.

Got so much height I could grow a landrace sativa! I hate those pullies they waste a good 3” of height.

Its mine! Its on its way. VS ks andre 3000. I could use a mini split system its gonna be hot. I just get issues when its a certain temp outside and in the home where ac is off.

Any other time Im good. Average temp 5 months of yr is like 40F highs 20F lows.

I couldnt do it, Im already at my limit safely amp wise thats being drawn. Theyre 50% more efficient so I can have more right? Just without thinking about it seems so.

I hear a lot about how good hps can grow and deeper canopy but ya. I like my leds. Plus the hps wont be usable itll overheat my room especially when ac is off and temps arent useable in or outside home.

I vented straight out before and pissed everyone off when the ac guys came over and were like dude thats why it aint workin.

Ive seen hps grows in person its so wild the heat output. The watt draw. I have basically a 5x5 and 3x3 could I even adequettely light them up in the same circuit? Just few things that come to mind why I dont do hps.

I jumped right into leds. About the circuit, thats with many other things grow related plugged in. Only thing not grow related is 400w tv and console. I even had thought about running a lead just for those.

Lots of it lost above the hps bulb. Idk lol. Im pushing it already with temps reaching 85F in room 90F in tents thats with leds. When its too mild temp. I sleep there and this gonna be hard.

On bright side things are coming together dont even have to find a new strain. To where Im planning on growing 1.5 yrs and off for a year. Its gonna test my patience but Ive gotten suprisingly accustomed to the extra 10-15F.

This weekend is the half way mark. Half way there. Such a good run because I ran her 3 times so I know just what to do. Realizing Im better off just perfecting her if I want to take a successful break and start up will be a breeze as you already know. Ill know just what to do.

Watermelon ultra by th seeds my fav breeder! She found me not otherway around. Was a freebie and my first strain for this year and didnt need to look further! 20% flower rosin yield if done right its quality thats just not there if you scruff it up washing or drysifting. Must hand trim.

Im open minded time to time though Id like to hear why as most people opt for suggesting leds. Just a quick search Im seeing suggestions of 1000w for 5x5 which is already 400w more.

Cost me 400-450$ to make 2 ibs and I hash it so Im already paying more. Just to pay even more for lights. It can blow a fuse let alone draw more than 80% of 15a constantly.

Im needing to find things to downgrade for effeciency in watts to stay at a safe limit. List goes on. I go through an oz in 4 days vs up to 2 wks. Maybe hash wasnt considered.

Its worth it though, I take ssri’s Im groggy all day and night so the dabs just kick ass. Ive thought about going back to weed with some dabs but its just history.

depends where you are from. here not even 0.05$ per kwh and we can use the heat for the house. just makes sense to go hps and hid in flower

Close to .20$ per kwh for me but I do get cool seasons. $350 to $400 in electric per 2.5 months. Sounds obnoxious being dabs only but I remember seeing people like that thinking damn.. Then I became dabs only too.
