I completely disagree with you, but to me the shift world-wide to the right means more prosperity for the rich and powerful, and more suffering for the most vulnerable.

The planet will suffer more also as well. The impact of Donald Trump enacting the climate policies of the rightwing Project 2025 would result in billions of tonnes of extra carbon pollution, wrecking the US’s climate targets, as well as wiping out clean energy investments and more than a million jobs, a new analysis finds. That's just for starters.

So, buckle up. The world's most powerful country now has a megalomaniac with "unchecked" power. What could go wrong?
His "Deep State" BS/Con is his way of stomping out another check/balance,staffing all gov. agencies w/loyal suckups who lack gov. experience will result in more chaos/ineptitude,his job title is head of executive branch not Don Corleone. The shit show that will result from tearing down Fed.gov. every 4 or 8 yrs and going from scratch for a country of 350 M will be a proud legacy.

What are windmills more destructive than? Yup their eye sores I guess, but so are well heads and pump jacks IMO. Bird deaths can be greatly reduced if the science was followed. We need to do something other than “drill, drill, drill”. That’s just insane.
I'm lost on the world coming together over Climate change, too many countries in different stages of growth and development w/opposing agendas,it's painful getting started while others lag,in America we're in, we're out,we're in, and now out again w/ Trump, surely his neanderthal drill, drill, drill, baby will help. I DO know storms are getting mental and 1000 yr. events are happening yearly. I do my part w/birds,been feeding for decades,it's fulfilling and they seem to count on me(especially in winter),the sight of a rare species visiting the yard brings a good feeling. Little things like this ground me mentally in an increasingly complex and confusing reality.

I miss cannabineer. He would pester people to link their "facts" with respected and trusted news organizations and real journalists. He would insist on links to articles that would buttress the "facts" they were trotting out. Thanks Ozumoz66 for finding a link to show that anything can be put forward as fact, but if there isn't something to support those supposed facts, they may not be true to begin with.
It shouldn't be viewed as unreasonable to have one's information be sanitary.

as far as the noise - your ears cannot pick up the decibel in question that harm wildlife
How do we know if we can't hear it? I'm curious as I've not read/heard about that. Planning is prudent to minimize impacts to our surroundings.
Btw, sound is represented as frequencies and the intensity/loudness is measured in decibels.

Edit: re bird population decline is primarily due to habitat loss, urbanization, industrialization, climate change, (forest fires) agricultural practices (removal of fence rows, tree lines, woodlots), etc.

Yes, if it weren't for the irreversible tipping points. Then we (rich people with toys ranging from dirt bikes to private yachts and jets) could just carry on and blast more CO2 into the atmosphere ad infinitum. However, the science is very clear that man-made climate change is real, and happening and has been since the start of the industrial revolution.

The thread on "Climate in the 21st Century " has a survey at the start polling for one of three choices on the question of will humankind see the 22nd century? My vote was "not a fucking chance". I hate to be alarmist, of defeatist on this issue, but seeing the effort worldwide doesn't give any hope to me. Some people, obviously uneducated or just oblivious to the science don't even believe it's happening or believe its just earths natural cycles that we have no control over. Others just don't want to upset the status quo (rich and powerful). They control the levers of power and influence so that's where we're screwed. Trump 2.0 will make it worse. Far worse.

To say there is nothing we can do is ignorant of the fact that we live in a democracy where voting for a candidate and/or party that wants to take steps to address the issue would help. But, when the electorate voted, they voted in a populist who will shred any hope of lowering emissions.

Bleeding and in pain, a woman endured a harrowing wait for miscarriage care due to Georgia’s restrictive abortion law
“I was breathing, I was recording everything that was happening in my mind, and I was thinking ‘I just need to get through it,’” Bell said. “I even told my wonderful husband, who obviously was very sad when we got this news, I said, ‘I love you.

Homebuyers Face Difficult Housing Market Under Trump Presidency
Donald Trump's return to the White House is unlikely to offer much relief to Americans struggling with soaring home prices, stubbornly high mortgage rates, and growing housing costs, as his policies could make homebuilding more expensive and push mortgage rates even further up

Wow,been gone awhile, seen Fog Dog bow out,now Cannabineer also,WTF he was cool IMO not to mention very smart also, damn those two that I bantered with added to LED-DYI,Roger Schrubber,Jimdamick,Schuyler(she was a toughie),Cunning Canuck,Taco Mac,and others that don't immediately come to mind were stalwarts of the political thread.I'm sure they are all flummoxed by recent events and hope they're all OK healthwise, you can't let passions get you banned by dissing anyone or butting heads w/Mods. over TOS .Some of these people had pretty high IQ's that was evident w/their entertaining back and forths. I"m also not to proud to enjoy conversing w/ people smarter than I , it's a good thing ,and they could really bring it when their passions were stoked. Some of their takes were worthy of the Op-Ed section in major newspapers IMO and they will be missed for the angles they brought to the forum,w/a nod to the brave Ukrainian people I say NOSTROVIA to my missing cohorts.

Yea it is definitely important to keep feeding your flying friends especially in winter because they are expecting it,and get used to it. I have them perch on my fingers and eat out of my hand.

Right??? What's a little oral in the Oval office, right? Not like Bill broke any trust and used his power to assault a young intern. We'll leave out the cigar bit..

Anyways, IMO, MSM, celebrity endorsements and the DNC itself are all partly to blame for Kamalas loss. Msm gaslighted the public for years about Bidens health then acted surprised for a week after the debate disaster. Acting like they had no idea about his decline while the public knew full well his condition. Conveniently pretending to be shocked about it up until Kamala announced her running, which then the msm immediately got behind. There shouldn't be any blame put upon US citizens for not trusting the media. I also think MSM kept people home from voting, too much confidence behind Kamala made it look like she didn't need any votes.
The DNC was either going to try to run Biden, or completely run him over with the bus. No other dems could've gone up against Trump, so run Kamala. She has the experience, but more importantly it would start way more heat between the two presidential candidates. No other dem candidate would have done as well against Trump as Harris with only 4 months to election.

Tldr
MSM has proven itself to be unreliable and untrustworthy. They are bought and paid for and American citizens are realizing that.

Dnc spent too much time trying to out Trump and not on connecting with new voters or finding a better candidate

Celebrity endorsement are pointless and possibly more damaging. Out of touch musicians/stars acting like they know what goes on in the middle class. Gtfoh. Hopefully both sides will stop with that nonsense.
The one main thing I'll disagree with here is the "out of touch musicians and stars". Most come from humble beginings and have to work their ass off to get to that level. The rest slog it out at the small halls, arenas and bars to eek out a not blue collar living. They're in touch all right.
