Ive got seeds of the 79 Skunk, the 81 Skunk, a cross of the 79 Skunk x 81 Skunk, and one called Southern Skunk.

I got 20, of the 79 Skunk from Sunshine State.

They came from Sunshine Seed Company, and Katsu and Half of them were freebies, as Sunshine State, screwed up 2 orders, and when I told them what they sent, vs what I ordered, they told me to keep what they sent, and would resend the 2 orders, and give me more freebies.

While I havent grown any of them. I will say, they made the order right, with no problems, as I also supplied Photographic Evidence of the order I got, and they were generous on the freebies, which were items for sale, and werent cheap.

So, now, if the genetics pan out, and Ive seen conflicting reports, they are a company well worth dealing with. And Katsu swears by the genetics,, and while possible, its hard to believe he would come out and say, in writing/print, that this stuff really does smell like a Skunk ect.
But, until it is really verified by many sources, until I grow it myself, I remain, a skeptic.
I got 55, of the 79 Skunk from Sunshine State. I bought 40, and got 15 free.
Ordered the 81 from Katsu, and got 3 of the 79 x 81 free.
The Super Skunk, were sent by accident, as were the Swamp Skunk. Fowl Egg. I think it is Green Crack x 79 Skunk

Southern Super Skunk (10 seeds per pack)

Lineage: 1979 Skunk X 1981 Skunk

Flowering: 12-14 Weeks

Height: Medium-Tall

Smell/ Flavor: Sulphur, ammonia, pine, decaying organic matter

Description:
In the skunk projects saga, we had our breeders take our 1979 heirloom Florida skunk clone and mate it with the only old school skunk we had seeds of. After so very attentive pressure popping we were able to get seeds from the 1980’s to pop and thrive. With all hopes on a stellar male, after hoarding the seeds for decades the move was to very carefully pop and find a new 1981 male. Out of the handful of seeds we were able to get a new 1981 skunk male.

It seemed like something that needed to be done, if only for the sake of making the cross. To see what these two different flavor profiles would combine to make. I’m proper fashion we did our 60 pheno run of these seeds. Everything that came out seemed to have bits from each parent.

The sulphur stench from 79, the strong ammo is from 81 with their combined structures it worked out perfectly. More vigorous than the parents, and you will get a bit of swap to one side or the other but they’re slight differences. We did end up with a sulphur, ammonia, sage and spicy mint out of a single female from the original 60 pheno hunt from these F1’s.

It’s a bit of a combination of the nasty meets the nasty. They will all branch out, they will get tall if allowed but it’s not hard to SOG them in 5gals, drip drain to waste and flower them after about 8 days veg. They do take longer to finish in most cases. They will stretch and branch out. Taking the height and width requirements of your garden may mean you want to flower sooner or if you have ample space or are outdoors you may want to get them as large as possible.

If you make more seeds at all, can you please keep me in mind? Would be keen to grow some under the Aussie sun :-D

I was smoking some Afghan Haze today and as I was smoking the hazey sour pine flavors combined to make a very skunky smell....my neighbor even commented that it smelt real skunky....almost chemically and reminds me of smoking Chem or sour d the way it coats your mouth and you can taste it for a while after smoking.

Odd that a strain with no "skunk" genetics was giving me this smell/flavor.

That sounds about right! A landrace matchup. North and southern hemisphere, did you keep a cut of this pheno? And do you have any more information on the cross and where it came from. Cheers and enjoy, sounds amazing

Shantibabba is a real breeder, I have a keeper of Shark Shock that is a straight up sour. His structure and consistency are second to none imho. A lot of "breeders" could learn a thing or two from him.
I know; I've been following Shanti and Neville since I started researching weed lol I've got their G13 Haze; Afghan Haze; Neville Haze; Black Widow; Medicine Man and many more in my seed collection for a reason. Also because I love that they're old school genetics that can be pheno hunted to deliver a unique experience that you may have never had before.
I'm currently enjoying a recent harvest of these:
