I've a pollen shaker i made with a screen and bucket it worked well with 150/120 micron screens


Basically it's a big salt shaker tbh it works much the same my pollen tumbler.

What size screen are you using for it?

I got 90 to 150 screens from ebay for £4 it's a cheap way to making great sift.

I've got a 110 sift screen but I don't think I'm getting as much sift as I should be I got more on the second batch I run through it so I might just put it through again then make edible with it or give it away for someone to make edibles with

Freezing the screen and bud with dry ice allways works well for me, I've got a bucket with the bottom cut off I just slide a bubble bag over

Where can I buy dry ice ? Or isit just ice cubes I just ordered a nylon screen I was gna put on the top of a bucket and just shake onto cooking paper for a while like the homemade one of stardogs

Yeah Thatl work exactly the same, magic shops usually sell dry ice, or you can buy it online, it's not the same as ice cubes, it's like chalk, it's good cos it keeps the material dry, and also the cold temp makes the trichome stalk brittle so the head snaps off, and the cold screen stops the cold resin head from sticking to the mesh and blocking it

I can't see co2 on ebay anymore it was expensive anyway, do you have a ice cream supply type place nearby?

That dude Frenchy reckoned freezing it made it too britle which adds more leaf matter to the product?

We have a few desert shops around my place I've looked on the ent and can get it delivered for £40 for a few kilos don't think I'll need that much tho

Frenchy always said your better off not freezing it if it's dry sift your doing as stardog said makes too much plant matter get in the mix the less the better trust me

I honestly never knew that, I watched a ton of frenchy stuff too, that's how I learned to wash. I mainly just wash hash but I have done the method I said above a bunch of times quite successfully, however I've never actually tried it with dry material, the dry material left from trimming allways went in the freezer to be washed in my machine, but the fresh dry ice frozen buds made some wonderful hash and I wouldn't of said it was badly contaminated, obviously a little bit allways get through. I have seen people who have thrown chunks of dry ice in with the material as they shook the bucket and that did produce green contaminated end product.

I suppose as the dry ice freezes the material it also drys it so I probably am getting more contamination than without freezing it, I just never noticed it being a problem, it's never been green, once the product is green I know it's gone too far so I allways practised caution and done multiple very short cycles even while washing hash

I skipped the freezing, I'd been trimming and resin was falling off the trim/bud no problem so I didn't think it too important.

After I got a bit more familiar with the sifter, I sifted a batch then washed it in ice water to see what I was missing out on not freezing it.

That thing for scale (lol) is a screw for a 1ltr air pot

It's only a small amount of low grade shit left so I was happy about that.

What washing set up have you got ? I have a press and have only ever run small amounts thru buckets and bubble bags

Its just an unmodified portable washing machine mate, I don't wash it in a work bag to let the material flow freely, but then drain it through the 220 first then a couple others depending on strain and what I want. Sometimes only 3 bags are used. It's abit more slick now as I have a half bucket for each bag so it stacks nicely, and nowadays I put the machine on a chair on the bench and the bucket stack goes in the sink so I don't need to keep emptying a waste water container.

I empty the end product onto coffee filters which sit on top of towels in the fridge, it gets dried in the fridge which I've learned is the best for keeping hold of terps. I used to dry it on parchment paper in pizza boxes at room temp which was fine but I've found the cold dry environment in the fridge is best for drying hash

Like Blue brother I didn't mix it in the bags I put the ice and water into a bucket put the lid on and shook it, you can get a good sloshing motion going with the bucket it's beats mixing in the bags i thought.

I'm not a huge hash fan I'd rather sift bit if I was I'd buy one of these for £10 and use a bucket.

Or a camping washing machine it's the same thing different price.

I honestly couldn't say, if you give me a dry weight I might be able to give you a very rough ballpark figure but it is totally strain dependant like some will yield 200% more than others, this is why it's important to do a small test in a jar of ice water to get an idea of how much it will yield, if she isn't a washer then I would rather dry sift her so as not to waste 5 gallons of green for 15g of hash

From what I've seen it's the same thing only an inflated price tag for hash makers.

It is they don't even mod the motor or anything, there's a few mods that can be done that would maybe up the price tag abit, the smooth hose with a tap, insulation, a better filter screen in the bottom, and maybe I'd feel abit more comfortable paying the inflated price, but they're exactly the same thing , and they give you a free sticker when you buy the bags anyways surely they knew I'd counterfeit one hahaha
