Caught this one in the girls change room. After many years growing I'm pretty sure I've got my first herm. It seems like it has more balls than it does pistols. Is it possible for a male to herm ?

I dont see any pistils. It might be a regular male.
On the lower branches are a few white pistols. I didn't photograph those. I'm a little over a week into flower, my bad eyes didn't notice until now :(. I never really check, I've grown so many years without hermies/seeds that I forgot it's even a thing.

That sucks. I dont use feminized seeds for that reason. There is always an occasional hermie that pops up.

Chop the plant down and make some tea with it. Thats what ive been doing recently, with all the males I cut down. LOL
Cannabis, orange peel, and honey. Its quite pleasant.

I see no indication of female parts........full blown male.
I've been using feminized seeds for decades and I've never had a Hermie.
I should have included this pic in the original post. But I find it strange this seems mostly male. From other posts I've seen usually a herm plants just have a few balls. This if full on balls with only a couple white pistols here and there. 4.jpg

Yes....hermaphrodite....mostly male.
Really makes me wonder how this happened. With fem seeds there should be no male DNA. I can understand herm traits being passed down with females throwing out some balls from stress, but this seems like a full on male showing only some female.

Marijuana has always had that intersex trait in nature....I assume it's some kind of "fail-safe" device to keep the genes going in times of trouble. Breeding has been selecting and selecting the plants that displayed the least tendency for the trait. But, there's also been lots of random pollen chucking -some of which has revived the intersex traits again.

I agree, most of the time I see a mostly-female plant that might have a male flower alongside a pistil -not the other way around....but it's random.

For what it's worth, I've had several plants that have been 99.9% female...but one of the lower nodes has a male flower developing on it. Of course, whenever I've found one, I plucked it. And who hasn't found an occasional rogue seed buried deep inside an otherwise-perfect bud? I've had it happen several times over the years.

I was working on the lower level of a building and there was 2 bathrooms. A gender neutral and an all genders bathroom. I contemplated using the gender neutral bathroom but didn’t really want to lock myself into a category. So I made my helper use the gender neutral and I used the all genders bathroom. I figured I would fall into the all genders category somewhere.

Back when I started growing a lot of people were afraid to buy seeds online so I used bagseed for my first couple of grows. I had a couple of males that I kept hoping that they were females. After some more time they developed female parts at the tops but the lower was all male parts. I believe when a males herms it’s called a reverse herm. The reverse herm isn’t as common because people usually chop the males at first sight and they aren’t growing long enough to show as a herm.

Maybe it's a male plant showing some female traits rather than female showing male .... deffo shouldn't keep it around tho
