Raw brand silica

Hi.

I have raw brand silica that I haven't used. I was wondering if this was meant for hydro only or if or can I use with organic grow.??

I have a few grows hung in 3gal fab pots.
FFOF soil w/
Gaia 444
Worm castings
Neem meal
Kelp meal
Myko

So if I can use with this soil, do I just use a few tsp on top of soil and water?

Anyone have experience with using this?

What does the label say? Check thier website also.

Well the way it reads implies hydro since it says resevoir...

That's why I was a bit unsure. Figured someone might chime in that has practical experience using it

Diatomaceous Earth is diatomite in crushed form, that's what you got in the bag! Some of the organic folks can probably shime in who use it, some people use it to prevent certain pests like fungus gnats growing in containers.

I would personally never use that for hydro or add it to the reservoir.

I think I got confused bc I read that silica is a big help with making stems strong and thick plus other benefits... but I think this is different.. I don't think what I read about silica was referring to diamite

So that's why I was hoping for advice if its an ok substitute and if it's OK to use with ffof.

Read the label where it says it's derived from diatomite. Diatomite contains natural silicate from silicon dioxide. It doesn't matter that they brand it "Silicate" it's still finely crushed diatomite which in gardening terms is called Diatomaceous Earth.

That's why I mentioned it since people use it widely on the forum. Search for Diatomaceous Earth and how people use it on the forum or use it as instructed on the pouch.

If it had been derived from pure silicon dioxide it would have been labeled as mono silicic acid.

That will work fine for soil.

Mix it into your water (about 1/4 teaspoon per gallon) then, water it into the soil.

Maybe every watering, less if that seems like too much.

For sure use in veg.
