what to tell electrician?

....what are you planning on having the electrician do?? if its just adding a circuit you dont need to tell him anything.... I doubt he will care...lol...air conditioners use a lot of amps.. anyways...give me some details and maybe I could be of some assistance....or maybe this is an old thread...lol...Im not sure...im stoned...lol...:eyesmoke:

i think my question has been answered i just wanted something to say to the electrician when he does the work -i dont want to tell anyone what is really going on. the pottery idea will cover me perfect- i think im going to say my girlfriend is really into making pottery so its a gift to set up the room for "kilns" i also need him to drill tru a cenderblock wall thats pretty thick to give me some air exhaust..

thanks for all the tips and ideas

yeah just look for larger breakers at home depot menards lowes they arent to expensive so it way less then a the electrian would be and replace the one for the basement for double what you have and your done

You might need a backup plan for putting a hole in a cinderblock wall. You can ASK the electrician . . . but they don't usually come prepared for concrete demolition. Maybe he can get it started for you by putting a small hole? You and a sledge hammer could finish it off. Good luck.

No, I meant to say 'proper' saw.. Diamond blades make short work of rebar.. If done right, the finished edge is almost polished..
Notice there is no thread in the DIY forum about cutting a hole in your basement wall.. If you've got the tools and know-how to avoid risking disaster, you don't need a guide..
I imagine that a contractor hired to repair that botched job would get quite a chuckle..

tell him its for a reef tank i use 3 400 watt halides on mine, more is better, if he asks why so much power..

I can get behind the pottery idea as a concept, the same a s simply saying you intend to set up a lathe and jigsaw floor units....

However as to the comment of two(2) breakers reducing load....incorrect. The load will be the same at the meter no matter how you split your circuity. The meter measures the TOTAL. Just to be clear. It's cheaper to set up one D/C box....simply put.

if its a decent looking room, then how about saying that you want a circuit that can hold a gigantic big screen and like 2 videogaming systems and a 2000w sound system, the simplest explanation possible, your just a nerd
And if the room its in looks like shit and is unlivable in then say you are renovating, and wanna get the electrical shit done and out of the way so when you finish the room//basement w/e it will look aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with no wires/circuits hanging out or ajar anywhere. i dont know, fuckit hes an electrician, 80% chances are he blazes like every other regular joe. He isnt a cop or anything, ive had a furnace dude come right near my shit and i know he knew, but nothing happened. You gotta remember, most guys that are in that line of work, want business, want Word of Mouth advertising, and being known for a snitch ass goody good wont get you ANY business in that line of work, trust me.

why would you want DC

your ballast wont work with DC cause transformers dont work with DC
unless you have a digital ballast but i doubt it

tell him that you are starting up an internet hosting company and you are going to be putting high load servers in the room.... Basic enough to get the power idea through to them... complicated enough that he won't think twice about it. for every 1k lamp you (should) have a 20amp breaker or just have him drop in a seperate 100amp sub panel so that you can control your room separate from your other electrical load.

Yes, total is the same. I meant that the load per line would be reduced. The wires themselves are rated for a certain max load. Splitting things up just makes everything a little safer. That's all I meant.
