oooh, i've not noticed that there's life outside of television. who'da thought it?If that wasn't a contradictory statement I don't know what is. There are plenty of young black men doing good things with there lives. Turn off BET and think about it. I mean really.
Anyway...Interacial relationships are accepted to a certain degree, but that's all in how you conduct your relationship. If the people involved are confident and content why does the outside worlds opimion matter. I've dated all types of races of women...The woman I chose to spend the rest of my life with is white. Yeah we get our looks here and there but honestly...WHO CARES? If you don't have the courage to withstand looks, petty comments and silly competition from compliment genders from another race...Then stick to your own. But i'd say same race relationships work the same. My marriage isn't different because my wife has less melanin in her skin.
this is why i really was hesitant about posting this, people always take things the wrong way and end up butt hurt about it.
i didn't say that all black men are the same, and i didn't mean to insinuate that that's what i'm saying: in MY EXPERIENCE WITH BLACK MEN, most of them were sitting "on the block" wasting their lives away doing stupid shit.
i do, actually, have the courage to withstand looks: that's what this whole post was about. and i conduct my relationships in the same way that any respectable person does: i find that more often than not it's OTHER PEOPLE'S opinions that get to me. and yes, they get to me, because it hurts to be judged when you love someone just because they look different and other people can't pull their heads out of their mama's ass long enough to get over themselves.
dude i wasn't trying to start anything and i'm not. it's cool that you have a good marriage with your wife who "happens to have less melanin in her skin than you", i hope it lasts for the rest of your lives, that you grow old together and all that shit.
i just used this thread to vent anyways.
sheesh.
