Let me try and explain this, although I doubt it will sink in, get it "Sink". It's not the sea Ice but the land based glacial Ice that is being unleashed by the dissapearing sea ice, Now take an Ice cube, mark the glass, and drop it in, get the picture? 180 and out.

As the Glaciers GAIN pack ice (it is gaining fast) the middle of the glaciers THICKEN and it is this which creates the unstable shelves at the perimeter. Not Global Warming......... DOH!!

I'd have to say if you actually believe the above, you are probably less smart than an imbecile, 40-50 IQ. The sea ice is melting because of a 1+ degree rise in water temperature in the artic oceans. They are what have been holding back the glacial creep. With them going fast and the interior of the glaciers getting warmer, (Melting from interior rivers that have formed from higher temperatures at the surface), 1-3 degrees and more in some spots, that in turn affects the bottom of the glaciers and a hydraulic situation forms where the glacier rides on a bed of water, making their travel that much faster. Some temperatures at the north pole have been observed to be as much as 7 degrees above normal for that period of the year. Get used to it Maxie, we are witnessing the last of the glaciers unless we turn this warming around. Glaciers all over the world are melting faster than ever before.

CrackerJax, I'm sorry to say but the total volume of ice is fairly well measured (within 5-15%) by surveying the top of the icecaps with methods like radar and laser altimetry, locating the bottom of the ice with methods like seismic soundings, and calculating the difference.
Since 1960 (data from 1950's and earlier is not useful because of lack of reliable data), the total volume of land based ice is down about 2250 cubic km to about ~29400 cubic km. About 86% of total world ice in in the Antarctic ice sheets and continental glacier. Another 10% is the Greenland ice cap. The East Antarctic ice sheet, consisting about 76% of the world's ice has indeed gained about 10,000 cubic km but the West ice sheet has lost about 4500 cubic km

So you are technically correct that parts of Antarctic has gained ice, it's not enough to offset the total volume of the earth's ice which has declined.

That said, I agree that it has not been proven that human-caused global warming is occurring, and in fact there is substantial reason to reject such claims. Geological evidence indicates very clearly that at times in the Earth's past icecaps were much larger in extent--and alternately, at other times icecaps were virtually nonexistent. The best explanation for the evidence is that whatever global warming trend exists is mostly the result of natural influences like variations in the climate system and variations in solar radiation.

Yep natural variations in solar radiation is the cause that is becoming more and more accepted. We fuck up the planet in a whole lot of ways but our co2 emissions are a tiny tiny fraction (like 5% or less) of the worlds natural c02 production from forest fires, volcanos, rotting plant matter.

Our cities are covered in smog and we need to get off the oil tit asap, but it has nothing to do with global warming.
