I gave my plants a good watering last night (1/2 grow nutes). I finally got things to hang up my HPS, and the way my other closet is setup works great for hanging it! I can actually move the light laterally easily without unattaching it.

I am going to put my plants under the 400w HPS for the rest of the veg phase. I have run into the problem that my fluorescent tubes simply do not cover enough space for how big my plants are getting. For the remainder of veg the plants will be under the 400w with a 18/6 light cycle. My flowering room with the HPS on is sitting around 74F atm, i'm pretty happy with that.

Here are the pics of the plants in the flowering closet. I still need to put a little more work into the closet, as it is not as the plant area isnt as light efficient as it could be.

So last night I came home to find my room mate had turned the heat up in our house. Our thermostat is taped onto a certain spot and is not supposed to be moved.

I walk into my bedroom and hit a wall of heat. My bedroom (and the grow closet) was in the high 90s.

All the plants were clearly unhappy. My two youngest plants (bagseed) had yellowed and burnt a bit. I've actually decided to trashh both of them. Not only because they were badly damaged, but because they were bagseeds from bad weed that weren't growing anywhere near as good as my other 4 plants.

I gave them all a very small watering last night before going to bed. This morning I woke up and gave them all a good watering with 1/2 strength nutes.

They are all looking better, and the room cooled off quickly and has been sitting at a comfortable 78F since I turned the heat down last night.

Yeah, sometimes plants will really get pissed when the heat hits that high. I've had it hit 90.5 one day, but that was a freak time, not much unlike yours, but luckily all of mine snapped right back. Best of luck to ya, bud.

So i just uploaded all the pics and wrote a really long thread just to get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. lmao wtf i haven't gotten one of those in forever and didn't even know what the xp version of it looked like, but i got it working and i think it was keyboard related (lol long story).

First pic is a 35 day old Ice. It is the plantt that seemed to hurt the most from the heat. It still looks droopy in the pic but fortunately in just the last hour it's been perking up a bit!

The rest of the plants are 42 day old Ice that didn't seem happy about the freak temps but they aren't doing to bad.

I'm really happy there was no big leaf damage to any of the plants i kept...they were all just droopy and a tad curled.

I have some Schultz rooting powder and plan on taking one clone from each plant this week. Gonna use rockwool and a simple clone dome with a heat pad that i already have. Going to put these clones right into flowering once they root under my warm/cool mix of flouros.

Just got home from work and the plants seem to have fully recovered from the heat incident. None of them are drooping or anything anymore =D

hey your temps are awsome! my buddy grows in temps between 60@night to 73 at the highest during the day. and most of his weed turns purple bcuz of this n if it doesnt turn colors its still comes out way more potent then growing in warmer temps.

I added a small rotating space heater to my room. It is now sitting comfortably between 77 and 80. Before it would sit around 69 in daytime and slump as low as 60 at night. I am hoping this will help fix my over watering problem and maybe encourage faster growth with better temps.

I also elevated 3 of my plants just to get them a little closer to the floros.

Yah thanks man, my friend and I have been talking over the past few days, and we arfen't using the space heater anymore. Now that it is under the HPS, when i keep the door ajar and a fan running i can keep it around 72-74 which I am very happy with.

So my camera is down atm. That's why i haven't updated for a couple days, sorry!

So a lot has happened since I updated. Last time I updated I put them into 12/12 to find sex. Well the first one to show sex turned out to be a great female! I had to wait 3 days for the 3 others to show, AND THEY ARE ALL MALE . Fortunately they were definitely the inferior plants out of the 4.

This does change my plans, though. I am more concerned with having a big consistent harvest than I am with this first crop. So instead of flowering my one strong female I have decided to kill the three males, turn my HPS off, and put my beautiful female back under the flourescent tubes under 24 hour light. Cloning time!

This week i plan to cut my smaller closet into 2 seperate compartments. The top with a CFL fixture of 2-3 CFLs on 24 hour light for the mother chamber. The part underneath will have my fluorescent tube lights to veg my clones for about 2-3 weeks, after that of course they will go into my flowering closet (the plan is 9 clones in 3 gallon bags under the HPS).

I've just been giving my mother basic grow

Splitting one of my closets into 2 parts tonight. Top part will be a mother chamber lit by 3 CFLs, the bottom compartment will be for cloning and Vegging. The lights for both sections are on 24/hr so light-proofing won't be a huge issue.


Also, great news! As I mentioned the other day, I did select a female to be a mother and took her out of my flowering closet and put her under my flouro tubes under 24 hour light.
Well the good enws is that the final plant FINALLY showed sex and is a FEMALE! So that makes my grow 2 females out of 4...i'm pretty happy with that. I will be leaving that female under 12/12 in the HPS flowering closet.

Finally got my charger for my good cam back so during and after the closet construction I will take lots of pics and have great updates later tonight! Peace

So now that my mother is selected and taken out of flowering I am left with only one female to flower for now

I know this sounds bad, but i STILL don't have flowering nutes. However, I am picking nthem up from a nearby hydro store tomorow morning. Sticking with Organic BioBizz (BioBloom and TopMax).

Here are a few pics of the plant that it is flowering (i took it out and put it under the flouro because it helps you see the plant a bit better).

I will NOT be following the mother that i took out of 12/12 in this jjournal anymore, because I plan on cloning it soon I will start a new sperate grow journal for the mom and her kids.

I was thinking of going with Ice, at one time. but it didn't fit into my grow at the time, so decided not to.
