Hi folks. First time poster here.
My plants have been hit hard by the soaring temperatures in Victoria. I have had them in the shade most of the time but even still a fair few leaves have gone withered and burnt.
My question is should I trim off these leaves or will they recover? I'm presuming I should trim them tbh.
Has anyone else experienced this issue recently? Will my plants recover? Any tips on stopping this from happening again?
Much Appreciated,
ROFL Harris.
depends
if there just a little bit damaged and the leaves are healthy loking leave them id say the plant is still using them to photosynthesis...
if the leaf looks like its just gonna die get rid of it.... it wont hurt it the plant theyre dying anyway.... i trim when need be.... doesnt hurt them at all.... sometimes ill take a fresh leaf off ifi think the plant will benefit.... but not if i can acvoid it...
tips to avoid in future.....
#dont water at hot points of the day (try only morning and nights if ya can...)
#dont overfertilize (a little less is more)
# dont let the soil get too dry
# if in pots make sure theyre big enough and dont heat up and damage roots
# dont get water on the leaves during the day...
dont let the soil get too wet, the sun may heat the pots and then the water ultimately stunting your plant
# shade... if you think it will get too hot for the plants shade is allways a good thing to think about...
there ya go theres a few off the top of ma head i hope this helps
