Plant went without water for 2 days... can it be saved???

Dam good call! I certainly will. The new batch will be going into the hydro and I'll have new worries. Any suggestions on leaving a hydro set up for 3-5 days? Always new challenges I have learned my lesson with the aero.

I have my hydro pumps on a timer never let me down once, and the pumps are always turned down low, its always best to have your pumps etc kept clean.

she'll make it through. as mentioned, give her some tender loving care for the next few days. during the first week of my lady flowering, i removed 70-80% of her leaves simply because i thought it was too messy and they were covering many potential bud sites. check out my journal in my signature and make sure to check on the most recent pictures. she is booming from the bush trim that i gave her a few weeks ago. give her time to recover and you'll be back on your feet. maybe provide more light and a little more of a breeze to thicken up those stems, good luck

So it will have been 2 weeks on Monday since this plant went without water. It drinks very little. I have gone through one gallon since. I have it under a 400 watt HPS and am wondering if I'm just wasting electricity, or if it is worth keeping. Any opinions? It is flowering, more so in some areas than others, but I included pictures of the best bud sites. The cola was removed because it was completely done for. Since this is my first plant, I don't know if this is normal or underdeveloped. It will be 4 weeks into flowering on Monday. Thanks!

If you're unsure about the roots, clone it and see how it fairs..
I'm not positivem but I think thats ok..

hate to be a dik, but how irresponsible. not just to the plant, but to the grow! put forth all that energy, time, money, effort, and just forget to check water level? the plants alive! see it through. when ur smoking it think about how easy it would be to forget ur plants if you simply put them in soil. you gotta walk before you set the record for the 100 yard dash. quit buying set-ups, go to ur local nursery and buy whatever potting soil is local and organic, along with 5 gal pots, and presto! you'll thank me! good luck and i bless you future soil grows that are randoming subject to long work weekends!

I am surely guilty of running before walking. Just my style to go big. I have been thinking about soil for the simplicity like you stated. I have room and could do a comparison grow since I'm just learning on hydro. Honestly though bro, its all the falling down that keeps me getting up a little wiser each time. I appreciate the post and will certainly be taking better care of my ladies in the future.

One of my first independent grows, i decided to go hydro, I built the system myself, and got root rot 2 weeks into flower. Boy did that hurt, so it happens to all of us at one point. As long as your learning then your making progress forward. Good Luck, lampshade.

Sorry to hear about your grow! I worry about root rot and already notice my water temp around 70 with no HID lights in there yet. Did you do another hydro grow after the root rot? Did you make any changes? Better outcome? Thanks bro

Yeah, it was heartbreaking. i tried to save but it was too late, as i was in denial. But since then ive done many successful grows hydro and soil. Honestly I see no difference, Hydro Seems to maybe finish a week or two sooner, but soil is so much easier for the personal grower.
Search an article in a magazine called maximum grow, called aeroponics vs soil.
Soil actually outperformed hydro. And the hydro system got root rot. LMAO. So it even happens to the pros.

Oh and the reason i got root rot was that i made my system out of clear rubbermaid tubs. I had to wrap them with tape to keep the light out. It was a combo of heat (from the light) and mostly the light getting to the roots.

I would sure be cool with the simplicity of soil, although the different aspects of hydro are pretty interesting. Trying to control and enhance the nutrients. I am going to insulate each waterfarm with duct wrap. I seen it in the waterfarm forum. Makes sense. Although in the end, it sure is hard to beat mother nature, in regards to soil. I've now heard that a few places about soil tasting better. One way to find out

SORRY, WENT TO SLEEP, BUT IM BACK. do that comparison or i'll save u the time n tell you the dirt will be slower, and very possibly have smaller yields. let me say this, if u r trying to produce as much bud(with the appropriate supplements), then by all means go hydro, better yet go aero. these systems are plant producing machines. i get from your post pic's of room, job schedule, that you have a decent job, probably live alone, and besides long work weekends, you got a pretty orderly schedule. correct me if i am wrong. i think that if you truly want the best, i mean the baddest azz, dankeroni weed, you gotta go soil! I'll take a smaller sack of some killacripachronic any day over a fat bag o commercial, cuz it gives me less to carry. there is also no comparison to properly aged soil grown weed. its the very thing that started the medical movement. i jus think soil would suit ur lifestyle a wee bit more, pleez consider thoroughly! peace out broham!

I will be trying it out to see. Just got to round a few things up. Also decided I'm going to switch nutes and the ones I have now would be great for soil. Just not great for hydro. I don't know that your comparison is totally accurate though. If I plant the same Kush and Blueberry Seeds in soil, I'm sure there will be some differences, but not to say that the hydro grow would be bunk commercial compared to the soil. Just IMO, but I will give soil a go. No worries, I'll keep an update on it. Your break down of me is accurate in some ways, not so much in others. One thing for sure, I do enjoy a bit of chronic and I'm not getting younger, so diving into growing and expanding my knowledge is a great use of time. Thanks for the posts!

cool bro, all im really trying to get across is that in soil when you overwater, underfert, underwater, overfert, it takes a while to show, or damage the plant. of course we are talking indoor growing. hydro and aero are so much more productive compared to dirt because the water is the medium. without it your hosed, and with it you have to be careful of you ppm, and your ph, hence the complexity, or amount of attention that, that kind of system needs. i mean, yes there are systems that are controlled via the internet, via closed circuit, and etcetera. i"m guessing you or myself are not going to invest in that kind of operation unless we were growing commercially. i simply took the guess that you were not doing so, and were simply providing yourself wit some sweet homegrowns. this is the very reason i suggested soil. that medium allows you to work a long weekend, while minmizing stress to ur plants.if your intentions are otherwise, then i humbly apologize. just saw a problem and threw in my two cents. i know your post was wether the plant will make it, yes i think it will, post some pics. good luck! peace brotha!

Growing is about skill.. Look at the masters in these forums.. A ton use soil.. A few ppl have been perfecting their mix for decades.. You'll get better results with hydro if you're more skilled at hydroponic maintenance than soil maintenance.. And vice versa..
A big advantage of hydro though is the ability to get top results with smaller pots.. With soil if you can't dedicate enough space for roots, you won't get anywhere..
