I am going away for 5 days with my family so there is no way I could be here to make sure I turn off/on my lights and see that they get watered. They are just starting to get to the flowering stage and a couple of them have already shown their sex so I'm not sure what I Should do  . It's too early to harvest so please let me knwo waht you think. I don't think it would be good to leave the lights on the whole time or off the whole time so i'm not sure what to do

1. You need a timer. - you can get it at a hardware store or walmart.
2. Try to make a drip system or you can do what im going to try
and do is let them dry out till the day you leave, then drench them. im tring this before i leave, and so far i havent had to water for 3 days, hopfully they will last for 7

about that drenching, dude, just remember one cardinal rule about growing marijuana, NO PUDDLES.

But dude definately has the right idea. Let your soil dry and the minute you leave, give your plants a good watering and then they should be JUST FINE when you get back, if not wilting just a bit but it wont be anything you wont be able to fix.

Another bit of advice, I'm not sure what your system is and all that so I'm not sure if this is GOOD advice or not but it would definately work for some people in your situation so I'll go ahead and share it.
Use the great outdoors to your advantage in this situation. Take your plants outside and leave them where they can get rain (but of course in a place that can't be easily found). A good trick is to take bundles of sticker bush and briers and sticks, and set them up around your grow area to protect it and make it extremely difficult to get into. Maybe have some sort of hidden rope tied to a tree on the inside that you can pull on to clear you a quick path when its just you. Good luck with that man, I hope there's some free green in your future as well as mine

and yeah... that too lol

What are you THINKING!???? I can't believe you didn't get a timer already! Shame on you, bad grower, bad grower! I'd hate to smoke your weed I bet it taste like crap! lmao just playin man, but for real though get you a few timers, they aint but like 3 bucks and also, in case you haven't got one already, get one of those little microscopes from radio shack, the little 10 dollar hand held ones. They're cool as hell to look at stuff through, even when you don't have nice trichomes to look at with it. Hair looks really cool through'm lol

Youre gonna need a timer wether you go away or not

The lights are easy... get a decent timer. Not one of the cheapest you can find... I've heard bad stories of them melting due to the amount of energy passing through to power the lights.

As for watering... If they're in decent size pots (1.0 gal or more) then you should be Ok, but stretched for being gone five days... this will also depend on the humidity, and temp of your room/cabinet.

Trial and error are going to be your best friend here. :-)

what kinda timer would I be looking for? some people are saying timer for hte light and some peple are saying timer for the water.... up to now I have had very good successwatering the plants using my own schedule I Have in my head and as far as light I havebeen using a couplw tube style grow lights that I have also had success with... I am starting to get all the white hairs and shit poking out and the males are starting to show their sex too (I'm not surew hat to do about hte males yet I am still researching that).... but yea what kinda timer am I looking for and how much does it cost? Is it possible to leave hte light on the whole time or to turn it off the whole time or will they die?

You can get a digital timer for less that $20. Make sure it has a battery backup to keep the current time and timer schedule in case of a power bump. Analog timers have neither of these features and when the power goes out for whatever reason, your schedule is permanantly off for that long.

Throw your males away unless you want seeds.

To reiterate, if you care about your plants then buy a timer for the lights and stop worrying about that. Water-wise, water them good right before you leave and you'll come back to thirsty but healthy plants.

The real question about my avatar is how many of us actually knew a kid when we were that age that would wear something like that if we told him to... :-) I knew of a couple... though we had the state school for challenged kids right around the corner, so they frequently visited our areas. :-)
