Well dont get too discouraged...im sure youll still get sum decent bud...im simply sayin they do better under lights...but im sure they will be fine outdoors bro...and i heard the bud isnt as potent on autos but i dunno if thats true...like why would the bud be worse? so just go for it man....you will definitly have sum bud in between your big harvest

The only thing you can do with an autoflower indoors is grow it just a bit faster. Then again, what kind of hurry are you in that 8-10 weeks is too long?! Outdoor weed will always be better than hydro, until they come out with a true "sun" bulb. Right now, lights only match about 5% of what the sun gives....so you go on ahead and apply more light hours.... U HAVE TO.

Autoflowers were not invented...it's a naturally occuring strain designed for a short SUN cycle. The quality is what is being manipulated by the current cross breeding with Kush etc....not the mechanism.

If you are going to grow indoors....just grow high powered strains to make up for the anemic light source.

Been interesting reading opinions in this thread. I think the main point of the thread is that these autos just don't do as well outdoors as indoors? Last year I had a pack of the Deisel Ryders, tried some in and some outdoors. Indoors did WAY better on yield (although nowhere near the dry OZ mentioned above and I'm an experienced gardener!). Quality of both was excellent however, I have to say that. Buds were of course tighter and less leafy on the indoor ones but both were nicely covered in trichs. Both had an amazingly strong smell to them.

Horses for courses springs to mind I can certainly see the advantage of being able to run just one cabinet on a constant 18/6 cycle for a rolling harvest. I'd say thats where the auto comes into its own.

i live in florida so i cant grow year round and with autos any light phase. brilliant worried about yeild plant more.

Fuck auto flowering plants there ok every so often.i suppose it would'nt hurt to put a few through your outdoor grow but it is beond me why someone would risk so much for so little i can get a better yeild of the plants brances lower down even just 1 branch you can't clone them i understand that these are a good choice if you have 100's of them but unless you do dont bother go for something you are gonna get 9 ounce even more instead of a ounce if your lucky fuck them shit thing's but every one to there own.

it takes the guesswork on whether to switch to flowering, for inside grow autoflower is awesome....

You got it my man i don't want to be wasteing my time and risking my neck growing these plants i grow enougth to last me so why should i waste my time.when i'm doing my grow op this year i want my arjons ultra haze #1 to be around the 12 ft mark not 12 ince. You see it's a risky and could boil down to loseing alot of money i make sure that i always have a differant smoke that is why i do the 4 strains a u haze,blueberry,ak47 and white widow i don't do this for the money i like a smoke but i don't see the point in growing all year round when i grow enougth in my 1 outdoor gurilla stye grow ilove the buzz that you get of the out door grow op's and i will do 1 grow indoors during the winter months just to get me through but i have to have a g room on the go at all time for my mother plants.not a light any where can be bought has good has the sun and the outdoors.nothing against auto's it is just not my cup of tea.

Guess work where did you get that from you can switch any time you want .If a clone has roots you can put it onto 12/12off but i like to leave mine till they are at least a 1ft the more you veg the more yeiled you will get.I think that you have been missinformed or not done you re~search.SO I WILL SAY IT ONCE MORE THE LONGER YOU VEG THE MORE THE YEILED.This is not the case with auto plants this plant has the flowering cycle built into it's genetic's so has soon has that plant is planted it AUTOmaticly goes int the flowering process.If you have good success rate with auto flowering plants then stick to them but for outdoor grow's in my own growing they play no part they do not yeiled enougth medication for me.You see even if you get you auto to go hermi you might get a few seeds but then again i'm allready got my clones ahead of you and i know they are female it my take loger but veg/flowering still beats growing autos hand's down indoors and out.That's all peace love and happy growing what ever your choice.

outside makes yeild bigger but in my experience indoor grow has the best quality weed imo
lately ive been wishing i woulda got a fast autoflowering strain ,but i guess theres always next time

Tyke, I think your really missing the point of autoflowers and especially considering your growing op you could really benefit from them. Hopefully you have some good cover for the 12 foot monsters your going to grow so this may not apply to you but in guerrila grows autos can be awesome there so small and can be planted in little "cabbage patches" and be completely undetectable. Heres an example way it could benefit your op.

Say your grow season is about 5.5 months, you visit your guerrila site about once a week to water tend to plants etc. Each week you go you throw a patch of 5 feminized autos in the ground (just easier to avoid having to weed out males since your only visiting weekly) 10 weeks later you harvest the 1st 5, even if its less then a Oz. each thats still a QP, stop planting 10 weeks before the season ends. If you do this succesfully you'll be pulling a QP a week when you visit your site up until the end of the season. Thats 3lb before you even harvest your big ones, you can scale the amount you plant on each visit up or down depending on your need.

These plants are a simple waste off time and effort,i dont care what any one says these plants are just a gimmick.grow enougth so you don't have to bother with these plants.I only plant clones femanised seeds anyone who buys seeds that are not femanised are makeing work for them selfs bro.My gurilla grow consist of clones that i allready have in my libary.well i only have 4 strains but it's still a libary to me and it looks better than any books.i get what you are saying but i don't grow to sell i grow to smoke.The smoke i have left now 3 and harf ounce has to last me 4 week till my next lot is ready that includes drying it's called forward planning.

They have taken the grow world by storm in the last couple of years and mid summer last year it was impossible to get hold of any.... everywhere was sold out! For VERY MANY people those autos offer a better alternative to having to buy unpredictable street weed. Here in the UK we are finding some pretty nasty contaminents being introduced into commercial weed to bulk the weight. OK, so yield will be low BUT its CLEAN

I dont bother with autos myself now but I can understand why so many people choose them for fast, simple grows, espercially if like many, you dont need much to give you the ocassional smoke of nice bud.

Autos are a novelty right now. I grow auto AK (seeded 1 female long time ago and have tons of seeds). I can get sometimes 2+ Oz DRY but normally around 1 - 1.5 under 400w HPS.
I use them to gap my harvests as others stated in this thread. They are NO WAY even close to taste or potency of normal sized strains. They are good to have bud all the time but when my big girls finish, I get rid of the auto bud cuz it's like drinking cheap whiskey or cheap beer.
They are fun to grow though
