just a simple question. i have two 600hps running in my grow room, the room is 3ft wide 6ft long and 5 and half ft tall. the temp is about 105, if i was to change the bulbs from two 600w over to two 400w will the temp reduce. ive tried every think else. i dont want to just run one 600w light because i want a bigger yield. any answers welcome. thanks

ive got an intake fan and an out take fan. i have 3 fans blowing aswell, will changing the bulbs reduce the heat?

with that many fans going on it sounds like you better figure redesign your room. it should be cooler in their. do you have a fan blowing right at the light.if not try that.

please people, all i want to know is will 400w hps bulbs run cooler than 600whps bulbs... will it make much of a difference???

Yes it will but why do you want to reduce the light? Finger out a way to control the heat without going to a lower wattage bulb..The more light the better inside...

You can't just put a 400W bulb in a 600W system... you will be looking at explosions and fire my friend.
You are not venting properly. What is the ambient temp of the room your grow room is in? Are you drawing out 2 times the amount of air that you are pushing in, creating a negative pressure space? Intake CFM should be 1/2 the outtake...

not really. sounds like to much light heat for the size room you have. are your fans blowing in the same direction or are they causing a swerling in the air sirculation. and you said you have a cool tube. is you cool air coming from outside of the room and venting outside of the room. you even want to exhaust what your fans are blowing around within the room. this should helpcontrol your heat problem. good luck

600w ballasts will likely blow-out 400w bulbs or dramatically lower their life span. I would just go with 1 600w or, as suggested above, look into better airflow options.

the intake and the outtake are running at the same speed, could that be the problem? really need to sort this out

Yes, see if you can get the intake on a dimmer switch to slow it down. You can also try just a passive intake. Try turning the intake fan off for a little bit and see what happens...

Just a hole in the bottom of the room. The fan sucking the air out will force ait in through the holes via negative pressure....

if the pressure in the room is low, air from the outside will want in... I don't even have an intake vent, all the air drawn into my room is from small cracks in the room....

If you do it this way, you can even add the second fan as an exaust, that way you will be replacing the air even faster....

yeah ive got two 100mm holes in the bottom, im going to get a dimmer switch tomorrow and try what you said about the intake fan. thank you very much. dont know what i would do with out people like you on this site, cant ask anyone else because no one knows that im growing and i want to keep it that way

Dude... you need air cooled hoods for your lights...

In my op, if I shut the light fan off, the room goes to 120F...

With the aircooling on the lights it's 75F...

Here.. follow this and you will be OK...

Well, if you have the holes, no need for the fan blowing into your room. My avice would be to reverse the intake fan into an exhaust fan... You will be circulating air like crazy if you do it like that!!!!
