Tricks of the trade with your Aerogarden

Hey whats up just took my new plants out of the shit dirt and put them into my new AG SS6. You wanna talk about a night and day difference WOW. I had one that was doing ok but way behind on were it should have been. The other 2 died in the dirt. So i have 3 Feminized Super Lemon Haze plants going. One is about 2 1/2 weeks and the others are not quite a week. I also have added a 10-25 gallon air pump for a fish tank with a T and 2 small bubble stones. I just ran the hose through the filling door and put one stone on each side. A little extra air goes a long way for your roots. The hole extra air supply ran me about 10 bucks. They are loving life let me tell ya.

I have learned a little trick also just to let other growers in on. I let my plant grow as tall as about 4 inches then here is the tricky part. Take them out of your AG. Pull the cork with the plant out of the plastic caseing. Ok now carefully remove your small plant from the cork (Do Not Brake the Roots). Set your small plant on a clean paper towl. Now with a sterial razer blade cut the cork down the middle length wise. Cut about half way through the cork so you can lay it open. Its handy to have a friend to help with this. Wile holding the cork open place your plant back into your cork medium. The leaves should be about an 1/8 of an inch from the top of the cork. Now close up your cork making sure your roots and stem are in the center of the Cork. Take 2 small zip ties and place one around the top area of the cork and one down twards the bottom. Zip them semi tight around the cork. In my case i had to remove a small peace of plastic from the side of my holder to accomidate for my bottom zip tie. This will help a lot for hieght of your plant and so they dont fall over if the root has not taken a good hold.

I am using just the strarter niutrients that came with my AG. Mine came with the ones for Herbs. I have placed a order for some Fox Farm Hydroponic Grow Big and some superthrive. Should be here in about 8-10 days. The only other thing i use is 2 drops (only) of hydrogem peroxide per gallon of distilled water. This really helps with root rot and stem rot. I think i am not going to use the starter tablets after my others show up. I will post some pics here in a few days of the girls.

Here they are. The two are just a few days old. The larger one is no quite 2 1/2 weeks. Remember this is just starter noots. My camera is pretty guy it has a hard time taking a close up picture.

The Super Lemon Haze has won the 2008 High Times Cannabis Cup with a landslide of votes. Between the many reasons: its incredibly intense lemony flavour, with a strong haze background. It’s a sharp and intense taste, which reminds of lemon, lime and pink grapefruit, followed by a very earthy and musky haze aftertaste, with traces of incense and black pepper.
The effect is very balanced; it starts with a quick indica-hit feeling that softly moves to a very strong high, with a social and creative side.
The Super Lemon Haze is a very smooth compromise between the great qualities of its parents. It has 9-10 weeks flowering time, and a very typical Christmas tree shape. Plants tend to grow quite tall, but the internodes are not too far apart, and allow easy topping. The leaves are very sativa-like, while bud formation comes dense and has a high calyx-to-leaf ratio.
The Super Lemon Haze is very effective both indoors and outdoors, and responds very well to high-EC hydro systems as well as organic soil setups. When cultivated in soil, the spectrum of terpens is more developed and gives an extra lemony flavour.
The THC is high at over 22%, ensuring a very psychedelic experience to even the most experienced smokers.
Awards: 1st prize HTCC 2008
Genetics: Lemon Skunk x Super Silver Haze
Effect: A very lemony haze, works fast and lasts long. It’s a very powerful high, very balanced between a physical and a cerebral side.
Flowering indoor: 9-10 weeks with a production up to 700 gr/sqm
Flowering outdoor: Finishes end October in northern hemisphere, production up to 1000 gr/plant.
THC: 22.9%

Ya im looking for some more lighting. I have found 300w high power CFL's. Im going with CFL's rather than HPS or MH lighting. I dont have the room for that much heat output. 6 300w CFL's should do the trick. I found out my noots will be here on Thursday. Im trying to track down some ruber corks to plug the extra holes with and i can cut out like a sabo for my plants. Im going to change my water every 2 weeks like clockwork.

That is some major light power. I found my lights that i want but im having trouble tracking down the light mounts i want. Every place i went was out of them. I gess im not the only one with an AG around here...lol. I do have a question on my noots. Im getting fox farm hydro gro big and some superthrive. What strength should i use 1/4 1/2 or 3/4 power, because they are so young i dont wanna burn them up. All three are not going the be budded. They are just Mothers. All 3 have a 95% chance of being female. I hope........

I will keep posting pics of my progress.
