Nasty Ass Trash Smell

Hey guys. I'm in my 3rd day of flowering (see sig for journal) and in the last day or so I've noticed that the plant is releasing a disgusting odor (nothing like a dried marijuana bud). Up close the smell resembles freshly cut grass but from a distance it smells like a rotting squirrel corpse or week old trash!

Is this normal? I have never noticed this when growing outdoors; is it just more pronounced because its growing indoors?

The plant shows no sign of mold, and it's a healthy green color. At night the temps drop to about 55-60F and during the light period the temps average 75F

prolly should get a fan on dem bitches stat. lol
Yup, got a fan; see my signature for the grow log. All I need to know is if this is normal. The plant is in excellent health (vibrant green) and everything seems perfect; except that it's emitting an absolutely repulsive smell.

Plant chemistry is a complicated thing. Depending on strain, what ferts and suppliments you used and wether you gave her a good flush are all factors in overall smell of the plant. But in short it probably means that you've got some pretty dank herb. I'm guessing that after a proper curing, it will smell completely different!

i was merely implying that maybe you should change your trash bag. after seeing some other pictures of peoples rooms on here, it seems possible you could be dealing with a trash buildup.

maybe an animal died inside the wall trying to keep warm. its definetely possible. fluffy isnt missing right?

smells like fresh grass up close, but smells like shit across the room.

maybe you did walk into your breath. dont blame the plant.

this happened to my cheese plant, it literally smelled like shit for a day or two. when i was watering my plants one day i got a whiff of it and smelled the plant up-close and it sure was the plant and it was the only one out of 22 strains. but it smells normal now i wouldn't worry too much about it, give it a few days then see what it smells like. try flushing it with some plain ph'd water for a watering if u havnt done it yet.

Hey thanks Sonoma, I'll flush with some pH neutral water tomorrow morning when the lights come on. Its time for a watering anyways. Yea, no doubt its the plant. I'm growing in a closet in my home theater room and its closed off from the rest of the house. The smell is only in that room and the smell gets stronger as I approach the closet.

For anyone that might come across this thread; Sonoma was dead on. I flushed the soil with distilled water and the next day the smell started getting much weaker and today it was all but gone (very faint) and it now smells like any other house plant.

I've noticed some males tend to stink more than the females during the first few weeks before they show sex. Have you got 4sure females?

Just pointing out an observation I made and I was wondering if there was any facts to it. Do males stink more or is it just my imagination.
